On Deck - Thunder Bay
On Deck
Description
On Deck, a popular spot for St. Paddy's Day, offers good appetizers like nachos and poutine. The service may suffer during busy times, but the food and friendly servers make up for it. Despite a few negative reviews, the diverse menu, inviting atmosphere, and delicious wings make it a great choice for casual pub fare and entertainment like pool and live music. Affordably priced, this North Side gem is worth a visit for a fun night out with friends, even for those with dietary restrictions. Overall, a promising spot for a casual and enjoyable dining experience in Thunder Bay.
Feedback
Low class, smells of pot, very dirty bathroom. Kitchen messed up the gluten free burger bun and swithed it to another family members burger. Got glutened.
This place is a pub with a bunch of regulars who hang out there to watch sports. The waitress was very friendly and there was a gluten-free menu with lots of options on it. I'm not sure about cross-contamination in the kitchen though. I ordered a buffalo chicken sandwich. It was a real treat because I haven't had something like that in a restaurant in over 15 years. Very tasty. No symptoms after or next day.
This is my favorite place to go. They have a separate area for food preparation and a dedicated fryer for gluten-free options. There is a variety of choices on the menu. I'm not a big fan of the burgers, but the wings are absolutely delicious.
After a long day of traveling to Thunder Bay, we were starving. It was already past 9pm when we finally arrived at our hotel, and most places were closing up for the night. On Deck appeared to be the only restaurant still open. Luckily, the bartender Casey, who has Celiac disease, was very accommodating and put our minds at ease about our dietary concerns.
