Contribute FeedbackThe reviews for the Mandarin Restaurant in Thunder Bay are quite mixed. While some patrons have had negative experiences with terrible food quality and rude service, others have praised the prompt service, hot and fresh food, and attentive staff. Despite some complaints, regular customers like Ron Kanutski appreciate the consistent quality of the food and the efforts made by the owner to rectify any issues. Ultimately, it seems that the Mandarin Restaurant offers a variety of dishes with both positive and negative feedback from customers.
Had a delicious lunch of rice roll (crispy and tasty), hot and sour soup (not too thick or too spicy like at some places) and mushrooms, onions and tofu (superb!). The atmosphere is not much, but the food is fantastic and delivered by attentive, friendly...More
It is out of the way, and they can deal with a large group. We showed up last minute with ten and they were happy to seat us.
I find the Mandarin to be a consistent quality Chinese food the food is always fast and hot the portions are very fair sized
Stopped here for lunch while doing research at the Thunder Bay library. Decided on a bowl of wonton soup with BBQ pork. For about $8.00 received a watery tasteless broth with 3 wontons and 2 slices of pork. With so many great places to choose from in Thunder Bay this one will not see me again
I was visiting TBay and my relatives ordered food from here. I found the food somewhat tasteless and almost needed to put the thick sweet and sour sauce on a lot of the food to give it flavour. My elderly dad actually used ketchup! I have been spoiled by eating real Chinese food and other SE Asian food when travelling so this was a real let down. Our food was preordered earlier in the day and picked up for take out.
