After watching Mama Mia 2 in french at La Familia Cinema in Thouars we emerged from the air conditioning back into the 30+ degrees of a hot summer evening and immediately headed towards the heavenly scent of cooking pizza dough. O'comptoir does mainly take away pizzas but they have several tables and chairs all in stainless steel in a small sitting area blasted by giant fans to circulate the immense heat from the pizza ovens. I ordered a 30cm La Reine, a popular pizza in France probably because it has almost everything on it. What a delight this was with the thinnest crispy base I have ever eaten. A bottle of Saumur Champigny was only 12 euros and even included the cork to avoid drink drive rules which are sensibly tough in France. The whole meal was a very inexpensive treat and I will definitely be coming here again.
We love this simple pizza cafe. Hand made to order by really lovely staff who work really hard. Small dining area downstairs but large room upstairs. Good for groups or with cinema trip. Pizzas are divine and lots of choices. Nice puds ice cream sundaes etc. Also salads. Cheap wine. Eat in or takeaway and you can order in advance.
Super petit restaurant, pizzas excellentes une pâte exceptionnelle fine croustillante, une garniture de produits frais un régal, personnel très accueillant merci, franchement superphphi
