Bella Italia Deli - Thornwood

I needed to order my breakfast and lunch quickly on my break, so what better place to get both than an Italian delicatessen, right? WRONG. I ordered via phone from the menu off of their website listed on Google and I chose a 2 egg cheese omelette dish, which includes home fries and toast. On the website, it states that it costs $3.99. For lunch I chose a Bella Boy and added lettuce, tomato, onion and avocado. When I got there and wanted to pay, I showed the cashier the prices posted on their website on my phone, so she called the cook. The cook stated to the cashier that the omelette price was doubled than what it states on the deli 's website. I don 't have a problem paying for good, quality food. I do have a problem with falsely advertised prices, zero customer service skills, and rudeness. The cashier was very sweet, and apologetic, whereas the cook ranted that the prices change all of the time, and things cost more when you add feta and spinach which I never added to my omelette. If the price of a cheese omelette increases, great. Simply update the 2012 menu, and apologize for the inconvenience. I left the omelette for the simple fact that the cook was rude, and just got my Bella Boy eggplant sandwich, two large drinks and a bag of chips which was $20. The eggplant sandwich looked beautiful, but was disappointing for an Italian deli. The mozzarella and eggplant were both bland, and unseasoned. For $20 you 're better off getting a salmon dinner from a diner.

The food is low quality, but they will charge you less than their competitors. The only good thing about this deli is their owner George. He is a friendly man and a good neighbor. They had a female cashier who would ignore the customers. I'm not sure if she still works there. The food and the service is subpar. Coming here is a complete waste of time and money.

2 stars is way too much for this place. Terrible service. They screwed up my order the only two times I've been here. Never going back. Food was terrible. Owner is classless. The workers are morons.

Awful awful chicken cutlets! How can you serve those things, flat as a pancake and dry as can be? I only visit this place once in a while and now I remember why. Sorry , really disappointed in my lunch .

This place is disappointing. It feels like one of those county store coffee shops you find upstate, but this one is also overpriced. It makes me wonder if this so-called deli is just a front for something else...
