What a hidden jewel! I have been going to this restaurant for years (since its old location) and by far the best Beijing duck ever had! The prices are very good and the service is top notch! Not to mention their other dishes are amazing! (I also recommend the crispy Szechuan beef). A little hidden in position (which can be a good thing) but is definitely worth the ride. I cannot recommend this place enough! Try it ou... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Chung King Garden:
Used to recommend this place, but the quality and experience is noticeably fallen. The weekend. The service was inacceptably slow and our whole food (including appetizers) all arrived at the same time, so we spent most of our time in the restaurant just waiting when there was only another group in the whole restaurant. The Beijing duck is still good, but it used to be better. View all feedback.

The old location in market village was our go to place for Peking duck. It was so good portion was good with crispy skin and juicy meat. This is the first time we visited at this location. I must say we were pretty disappointed. They don't offer the set dinners any more which were really good value. The duck was quite small and was very dry. The wraps were also on the dry side . Not sure it still the same owner/chef but just does not have the same standard that I remembered.
I used to be their fans when they were in Market Village. Although the price was more expensive than other similar restaurants, I kept on going back until they moved to the new location. Today is my first time to try at their new location. I ordered sweet sour boneless fish and small steam bun. Sweet sour boneless fish is my favour dish and I was very excited... however, BIG DISAPPOINTMENT! The fish is clearly died for a long time and stank! It is over cooked and no taste at all. Not even boneless, but also tasteless except stank! The skin of small steam bun is too thick. No different from those frozen foods in supermarket. I only finished the small steam bun and threw the fish in the garbage bin! Wasted my money and my time to drive to their restaurant. Even a frozen pizza is tasting better! What a shame!
This restaurant has been in Market Village for a long time and has moved to Thornhill since Market Village has been demonlished. A traditional Northern Chinese style restaurant which offers foods similiar to those popular restaurants such as asian legend etc. In my personal opinion, this restaurant has a higher end of sodium and use of oil on their dishes. But I don?t blame them since most of these dishes everywhere else are also quite greasy, or you may consider cooking at home. A few comments with their dishes which disappointed me quite a bit. The sweet and sour chicken was in small pieces like popcorn chicken.. not sure if it was meant to be this way or this is the right way, but i seldomly have such that the product is mostly fried flour or just a tiny portion of it contains chicken. I?m sure chicken price is expensive these days but it?s just quite unacceptable. dumplings are fine, as usual. Beef was also on the greasy side, they are especially soft so very easy to chew and consume.. a bit too loose and soft though. the shanghai fried noodle was a bit surprise as i thought it was just a fried noodles dish since the noodle was thinner than i had (maybe this is original style), but as usual this dish is usually quite greasy. last but not least is the peking duck. portion was small, a bit dry.. maybe it was a bit overly done and the duck was skinny that?s all. Will I visit again? Perhaps not but only if everyone wants to come for a gathering then it?s okay... if there are no alternatives.
They're best known for their Peking Duck dish, which tastes great. I would also recommend the Crispy Beef and House Special Noodles, very tasty. They get quite busy here so make sure to make reservations. Don't expect a lot of service here when they get busy either, but they are still very helpful as long as you call them over.
