Ashanti Coffee Cafe - Thornbury

We stock up on coffee here before heading back to western Canada. The beans are great. Snacks and sweets are worth a special trip. We went to Collingwood the other day and had lunch at their shop there. Fantastic offerings on bread, wraps, and cebatta bread.

Okay place for a coffee and a sweet. Service tends to be slow as the staff know the town regulars so there is a lot of chit chat during service. Not a place to rush in and out of. Seating area is crowded and tables are often dirty, not wiped. I've seen a dog in the kitchen a few times. Not sure how this is allowed from a public health perspective. Coffee is good. Sweets are good. I prefer the Collingwood store.

The coffee is roasted locally from beans grown and shipped from their own estate in East Africa. This is a great place to stop for a morning coffee or for a light lunch.

This is tiny - and hard to navigate movement within. The service was amazing - pricey but delicious sweets. Coffee is exceptional - love it and would buy some to take home next time!

Delicious selection of tea and Tea prepped with care and individually filled tea bag. Came back for a latte the next day and the cofffe has a beautiful flavour and definitely feels freshly roasted. The baked items look delicious but I didn't like to see some of the brownies at the front uncovered especially with four school children hovering near them. Has a very small town but personal feel inside this cozy coffee shop, no wonder the whole street is filled with people carrying the cups.
