Came for Sunday brunch. The limited menu looked good and stressed brunch beverages over food. Service was friendly and engaged, bit of a wait for the food but it was worth it, the Bacon Egg Cheese was to die for.
It's not often that I come across a place that does so many things correctly. From the craft cocktails, to the delicious locally sourced food, The Block Saloon checks all the boxes for a wonderful dining experience. It's your next best place to frequentbecause the food and drink menu changes often. They're always crafting something enticingly special. Plenty of parking, greatspace inside with attentive wait staff, and a great seasonal outdoor patio.
We had a delicious brunch, possibly the best eggs I've ever gotten out, with a vegetable hash, so good (my husband commented on how generous the portions were, he expected much smaller ones) . A lovely atmosphere on the patio on the back of the block.Service was on point, and relaxed at the same time. Totally enjoyable, no wait, excellent food!
I agree with Paul's review. The menu was very limited (that is ok). But when you wait over an hour to get food it is unacceptable. It seemed like the food was cooked in batches. Meals were given out at different times and some people thatarrived later received their food before our table. The staff was friendly. But even they had to be bored out of their mindsto wait that long and with not many customers.
This place was wonderful when it first opened but has gone rapidly downhill. My last two visits were terrible. The kitchen is beyond slow. No one in your party gets their food at even remotely close to the same time, and there is no explanation as to when the missing meals might arrive. The food, when it arrives after at least a half hour wait, is at best ho hum, some dishes not at all appealing. To top it off, they have extremely poor ventilation and thus have to keep the door propped open or it becomes too smoky. You either freeze or are eaten alive by mosquitos (maybe both! , yet you and your clothes will still reek of food when you finally get home.
