The Vivd Festival was on Sydney. So where we stayed (Park Hyatt) was very busy too. We went out for a few night and tried to relax in the hotel. The Dining Room was full. Luckily we got a window seat table at The Living Room. We order thre seafood platter which was excellent. The udon though not authentic but was good. The cheese board was very good, espeicalluy the wine wash cheese. So tasty. The service of a speici... View all feedback.
What Donna Schinner doesn't like about The Dining Room - Park Hyatt:
I've visited the cocktail lounge at many Park Hyatt hotels around the USA and Europe and have always found the cocktail menu and bar staff to be very high quality ... Sadly that's not what I experienced at the Sydney Park Hyatt - "The Bar" .. And this is not my 1st time there. The cocktail menu is bland and so is the staff. Had the unfortunate experience of dealing with the bar maid Carloline or Carol on New Years Ev... View all feedback.
We stopped here for a quick snack and drink after exploring the Rocks area. The restaurant is high class with stunning setting. There is a good choice of drinks and a couple of smaller snacks. We had a nice meat plate. Only pitty was that...no bread was available with the meat.
We popped by for an afrernoon drink and a cheese platter. Both were perfect, generous, reasonably priced and the breathtaking view made is even better ... absolutely stunning location. The service was friendly and prompt. We will be back soon!
DREADFUL is how I'd sum it up!! Awful service groups of overseas guys standing around that never come near you. Had to wait half hour for menu. Food very mediocre and VERY EXPENSIVE. $80 per person you've got to be joking!! SHAME ON...YOU.
Having not returned to the Park Hyatt for a while, I was quite disappointed to find the property looking not as grand and deserving of its ‘luxury brand” title. On entering the lobby, I had to ask the receptionist if I was really at the...Park Hyatt. The lobby looks small and with little space or sofas for people to be seated on. I was disappointed with our last experience at the Living Room because my family and I have always been a big fan of the Hyatt Group over the years. It is such a beautiful and romantic outlet in the evening with view of the Sydney Harbour. My family and I used to come stay in this same hotel many times a year even going back two decades ago. We even met Yanni the musician in the Fine Dining Room in the late 1990’s! I came to meet some friends for drinks and a casual dinner at the Living Room. We had a three course meal including a prawn linguine and beefburger of which the food quality of food was definitely “way below optimal” and a far cry from what we used to enjoy in the restaurants. The prawns in the linguine literally tasted like bland pebbles! It was comforting nevertheless to see every staff member in the hotel that evening having maintained the Hyatt standard. Everyone from the receptionist to the waitress was most helpful and courteous! May be it was only a one off that we had a bad night at the Living Room, though we would like to come back to try the other food and beverage outlets. Please give us a better food experience next time!
Oh I really wanted to love it here. The location is beyond amazing. Lovely views of the harbour and Opera House. But the service here really lets it down with staff members who just don't know the menu and deliver wrong items to the table...and then don't apologise for their mistake. Not good enough in a 5star. The food is lovely and coffee very good too, but not good enough to make up for the service failures.
