First o... read more I've been exploring vegan restaurants in all of NYC's boroughs, and until I visited this place, I never thought I would rate a restaurant just one star. First of all, I am quite familiar with Jamaican customer service, so I wasn't surprised by the experience here — I wasn't judging based on that. However, the menu was quite confusing. Someone needs to clarify what "à la carte" really means for them. I ordered the mock oxtail from the à la carte menu, thinking I could add rice and beans since that's how it works with à la carte. Yet, there was no rice and beans available (in a Caribbean restaurant at lunch!), so I opted for the steamed rice instead, which I regretted. At least I wasn't charged for it, but I quickly discovered that my à la carte experience was far from what I expected.

The pumpkin, lentil, and jerk plantain patties are delicious. However, my chickpeas and rice were a bit watery and didn't have much flavor. Overall, the experience was decent.
