Was Stevie M at The Bunk Inn a mag?
Very friendly and helpful staff. Had everything in place re Covid and made us feel very comfortable. At time of booking we had advised there would be two prams and they had arranged the most perfect space for us to be seated. The efforts they went to to make us and their other customers feel safe and comfortable was very noticed and much appreciated. Lovely food too!! View all feedback.
What Columbus Kuphal dislikes about The Bunk Inn:
I ordered a cheese board on a Thu afternoon at 18:10 and this is what I got! The menu states grapes with Chutney, clearly neither came! The person did not even apologies as obviously the Chef new what they were doing and not giving the customer what they wanted and just putting tomatoes on their instead is shocking!! And this was £12! I complained there was no manager, but a very young person clearly out of the debt... View all feedback.
On arrival we thought room looked well presented and tidy. We checked menu and decided to have dinner here. My choice of smoked fishcakes had been taken off menu so I opted for fish pie.A big mistake! It didn't look very apppetising. There was hardly any fish in it and a couple of tough prawns in a bland sauce.and mostly mash potato. We opted for a mini dessert and that was poor too. Extremely disappointed with the food as the restaurant wasn't busy and it didn't meet our expectations compared to our rooms.
Came here with my husband after a fantastic time earlier in the year but the night was a disaster. Food was well below par so we tried to inform who we thought was in charge too no effect. We were challenged with an answer that no one else had complained. At this point i left as my husband waited for an apology that never arrived. The bunk is always classed as a special treat as the cost is a tad higher than most pub restaurants but usally its money well spent. Not this time however . We stopped coming over a year ago but thought that beginning of the year they had turned a corner obviously not. we have tried for a response if nothing at all but it seems to have been swept under the carpet. They need too know that an apology goes a long way and would maybe make us think again. i guess not.
The rooms looked very nice and at first felt cost in the day. Later on I tried my TV to chill out and watch something and had issues getting it to do anything just a blank screen with noise coming out. Figured out that the controller batteries were probably an issue so went to the front to ask for replacements. The guy asked around and said they had none. If that was me I would have tried sort this as soon as possible. The food was dreadful and very expensive. My Mum had an over cooked fish dish (rubber) and smash on top (nearly £20) and manky looking cabbage. Dad's pork chop looked weird with more gravy than food and his beer was warm. Must admit my steak was alright but it's hard to enjoy it when the rest of your family are not enjoying theirs. We braved dessert hoping for an improvement and got a horrible dry brownie with cold out the bottle fake chocolate sauce and spilt coffee with no offer to clean it up. There was no heating in the rooms and the curtains weren't big enough so loads of light woke me up early. To be fair the rooms looked good, but it was the things mentioned that let the place down. Was looking forward to a nice stay in a quirky pub, but unfortunately It was a really disappointed.
We had a wonderful evening celebrating my partner's birthday at this restaurant. The atmosphere was festive and romantic. Thank you.
Staff are very friendly, food is lovely and its all very covid safe. Would recommend.
