After a few years, I decided to visit for Afternoon Cream Tea, opting to sit in the restaurant instead of the long veranda adorned with flowers. The service was prompt and friendly, with Earl Grey Tea and coffee, scones, sandwiches, and cakes presented on a traditional stand. It was a delightful experience, allowing me to relax and enjoy the pianist's music while watching the world go by. I will definitely be returning in the future.

Proper old fashioned crockery, fantastic scones, oodles of jam, butter and clotted cream, proper teapot, oat milk available. Fascinating historic hotel with a collection of framed fabric napkins which have been painted/doodled/decorated by guests to a very high standard, including by some famous artists. Free parking on the road immediately outside the hotel. Highly recommended.
