What Harley Wilson doesn't like about Batchelors Patisserie:
The food was good, but the service was poor. We initially got coffee from the Costa across the street, but were drawn in by the view of the croissants on the terrace and decided to try one. The lady at the reception seemed unfriendly, but we decided to overlook it and make our purchase. As we were enjoying our food and drink outside, another lady came out and asked us to leave because we had bought coffee elsewhere.... View all feedback.
Sooo yummy and a fab retro feel like caffe. it has received the original decor of even the original chairs. the coffee is excellent, all cakes and broth made in the house and I love the fact that they. some really retro cakes and rolls that they do not really see more in these days. I regularly eat a takeaway and often have their amazing rolls. the baked is the absolute craspiest. they also make a super delicious vegan slice with the same crispy baked. we regularly order cakes for our business (a offer for guests staying in our vacation), because we know that their cakes are made with love and always made this morning. worth visiting when they are in margate.
They know this place for years. quality cake and coffee has not changed, brilliant! service is friendly and fast.
The food was good, but the service was poor. We initially got coffee from the Costa across the street, but were drawn in by the view of the croissants on the terrace and decided to try one. The lady at the reception seemed unfriendly, but we decided to overlook it and make our purchase. As we were enjoying our food and drink outside, another lady came out and asked us to leave because we had bought coffee elsewhere. Despite the fact that we had also purchased food from their establishment and there were plenty of available seating options outside (with no one else sitting there), we felt unfairly asked to move on. It's a shame that this was our first visit, as we will not be returning.
This restaurant offers a unique selection of cakes that are hard to come by elsewhere. The staff is friendly and attentive, always willing to go above and beyond for their customers. Perfect for those who follow a gluten-free diet, it's a great option for a refreshing change from typical cafes. The ambiance is both rare and comforting in today's fast-paced world.
Best coffee I've ever tasted! cant wait to go back...and the doughnuts are amazing, staff are very welcoming, lovely place x
