The new Managers have really turned this place around from what it was. What User doesn't like about Woodlands of Marburg:
The service was very poor. Waited an hour for our coffees, had to remind them! Then asked for a bottle of water and that never came. 2 wrong food orders out of 4 so had to wait for that. Food came out 1 1/2 hours after we sat down. 4 people serving with only 4 tables full out of the whole restaurant. Won’t be back or recommending. Thanks but no thanks!!! View all feedback.
It was the place where we tied the node 12 years ago and returned for an anniversary dinner, not sure what to expect. The whole meal was the perfect combination of taste and portion size. We enjoyed beautiful wine, scotch and a last cocktail before... at the end of our evening. It was a nice night and very relaxing. The staff was so beautiful and made us very welcome. Very recommended for a romantic dinner.
The Sugar Mill is an incredible restaurant. The venue is stunning from the moment you drive up to the gates. Upon arriving at Woodlands of Marburg, we were greeted by professional and friendly staff. While waiting for our table in the lounge area, we enjoyed drinks before dinner. The ambiance of the place is remarkable. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The staff were attentive and regularly checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed. We were so full that we considered getting our dessert to go, but decided to try the signature dessert instead. We will definitely be returning to The Sugar Mill.
The historic villa and gardens at this restaurant are absolutely stunning. The executive rooms are also quite nice. Dinner was fantastic and the ghost tour added a fun touch to the experience. Dave, our hunting guide, was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. We had a lovely night with friends and thoroughly enjoyed our time at Woodlands. One small suggestion would be to add some outdoor seating options for guests to enjoy the sunset and views more comfortably.
Woodland sof Marburg has a great atmosphere in the Sugar Mill Restuarant. Set up in a Stately Mansion you can make it for stylish setting. There are two adjacent rooms, a furnished with beaurtiful antique style lounges for pre-dinner drinks or post-dinner intimate chat....Food is inexpensive, well presented and very tasty. The cook was very accommodating with food problems that replace alternative vegetables if desired. The menu was varied for every taste and included vegan and vegetarian options.
We celebrated my husband’s birthday at Woodlands and the staff, food and service was wonderful lad always!! We will be back
