A random choice on a nice warm Wednesday evening in May and we fancied something light. We had a nice table outside, sheltered from the light breeze, the service was a bit slow to order, my wife went for seafood risotto, and I just fancied a pepperoni pizza. To drink, a bottle of Finca La Colina Sauvignon Blanc €32 and well worth the price. We had ordered some bread and olives to eat while we waited but the food came really quickly and separately the risotto first, with a promise of the pizza shortly, not good service. The risotto was ok but short of seafood, the pizza was good, thin and crispy but really nice. Altogether €80 plus tip decent value.
Such a lovely restaurant with friendly staff and amazing pizzas! Vespas really is great, the team is very friendly and make you feel really welcome! We went twice on our recent trip, having focaccia garlic bread and the bruschetta and different pizza, pasta and risotto dishes we couldn’t fault any of them. To top it all, they have a brilliant wine selection and do a lovely Bellini!
Table not cleaned, two Aperol Spritz ordered but got one Aperol one Campari 40 min. after seated on the table... service needs to be improved! Fish was overcooked and cauliflower was not tasting well... new cook or bad food quality ...we have been guests for many years, but not sure we will return :
I’m glad we went to this restaurant before seeing the reviews on Tripadvisor otherwise we may have not gone! Our experience both food wise and service wise was excellent. My carbonara was gorgeous and I loved the poached egg on top! My husband’s calzone was huge and he said, very tasty. The portions are large, freshly cooked and served with a smile. My only negative would be that compared to a lot of restaurants in the town, it is expensive.
We write simply to encourage this restaurant as we have enjoyed their wonderful food and service for years so feel feedback is important. 5 friends visited for dinner yesterday.. This was our first visit post Covid. After being squeezed onto a small table for 4 when there was plenty of space, service was average at best, the waitress clearly isn’t enjoying her job, the waiter was much happier and he moved us to be more comfortable. The food was a mixture of average and less than average. The lobster spaghetti is a favourite of ours and was different and disappointing this time. The salmon tagliatelle was tasty, the steak acceptable but not amazing. So, delighted to see the business survival and recognise how tough times have been, but there is more work to be done still in our opinion. We wish them every success.
