When this restaurant first opened it prided itself on its good cooking and variety. The proprietors claimed to be trained chefs. There was a good variety of choice with very good salads to accompany the meal. As a vegetarian it was good to have a varied selection. Now, there is just a choice of curry or two other dishes, if they are actually available. This choice of curry has become a popular option on pub menus, but it shows a lack of imagination or consideration. Last niggt I ended up with singed nut roast a very tired option) and conventional vegetables instead of something tastier with salad. There is normally a vegetable lasagne, but they had not bothered to make any. A very limited and dull selection. They also started out offering old fashioned, but fun deserts such as peach melba and banana split. Not any more!! A shame that they no longer make the effort to inspire and attract. The Welcome Stranger has become the ' I can 't be bothered. '

Fabulous place, plenty of choice and great tasting food. Been eating here for many years with no complaints. Lots of parking.
