Pierside - TEHKUMMAH
Pierside
Description
Nestled conveniently near the ferry, this restaurant offers a mixed bag of experiences. Some patrons rave about the remarkable steak and cheese sandwich, highlighting its tender, juicy steak and masterfully balanced gravy. The home fries also receive high praise for their perfect texture. However, others express disappointment over overpriced dishes and questionable service, including restrictions on patio seating and unexpected bill increases. While the fast service and pet-friendly patio are notable perks, the establishment struggles with consistency in food quality and customer satisfaction. Overall, it remains a polarizing choice for visitors seeking a meal before departing.

Very disappointing breakfast. The three egg omelette must have been made from the smallest eggs known to man. You have to pay $2 more for shredded cheese but it 's actually either processed cheese or cheese-whiz. The toast is some cheap wonderbread variety (no multi-grain here) and you get one small container of bitter marmalade to spread on the toast (no selection of Jam). This place is well overpriced for what you get and if you 're waiting for a ferry and looking for somewhere to get a bite to eat, keep looking. After tax tip, our breakfast (two veggie omelettes with cheese and two coffees) cost over $45. This was definitely the most disappointing $45 breakfast I 've ever had. The waitress was friendly though.
Probably the BEST STEAK AND CHEESE SANDWICH I've had in my entire life. The steak was tender and juicy, the gravy was just right not too salty, and the cheese was yum, stingy, and gooey .. Down that with a glass of red wine and was the perfect ending of our trip to manitoulin island.
Ordered the Belgian waffle and it wasn't even a Belgian waffle just a sad plain waffle with no whip cream which I was told it came with. Definitely not worth the $15.
A bit pricey but good food and great staff! Great spot in bay mouth to stop for breakfast, lunch or dinner even just waiting for the ferry to come!
