We went to El Risco after a suggestion of a friend and we can’t imagine leaving Lanzarote without eating there now that we tried. The waiter was extremely kind and patient with specifications of the menu, new additions not listed, recommendations, and service. We had ropa vieja de pulpo with panceta de cerdo—a great surprise of stewed octopus with pork. Then a delicious rice with prawns served with a glass of white wine (Verdejo). We will come back for sure!
Lunched and dined here through our entire stay and it was worth the 20 minute daily drive. We tried another place which disappointed us and decided to stay loyal to El Risco until the end of our stay because of its beautifully curated menu, quality, interior, customer service and gorgeous location. Every day there’s a few special additions to the main menu with the freshest and tastiest local sea food. During our entire stay we tried 70% of the seafood options and the only thing we didn’t quite like is the Skorpion fish as it was deep fried which is not our cup of tea. Everything else was fantastic ! On top of being delicious everything is beautifully presented. I’m salivating as I’m writing this on my way back to London. The photos speak for themselves! The place is beautifully located on Playa de Famara with dramatic views over Graciosa island whether it’s sunny, rainy or cloudy. Secure yourself a table by the window ideally during day light through an advanced reservation to absorb the gorgeous views with your otherworldly food. All the girls that waited our table are careful and good but Amanda is the most special and made every dinner and lunch a great experience! We felt very welcome and looked after every time we visited. I’m not exaggerating I have never never been to a better seafood restaurant in the world and I have been to lots of them and I know seafood! . Hats down to the owner and chef! Bring cash no cards.
