The Lodge - Tawas City

Dirty, small areas. Basically touching the people behind you. Long wait times, slow service. Waited 10 minutes for water and coffee. Took our order and waited 45 minutes. No refills on coffee or checking in. Saw 3 different servers, one who asked for our drink order someone else brought the drink order and someone else took the food order. All while waiting, not one time did anyone check in but continued cleaning off tables, seating people, and clearly seeing us sitting there with empty cups and no food for an hour! I finally address the situation with our server, she said she had switched to using paper for taking orders, and is unsure if it got put in or cashed out. I asked for a manager and she said she was the manager. I asked how this was to be handled and she said we could leave or they could place the order again. Not offering any part of the meal on the house due to their inconvenience .This is by far the worst experience I have had at a restaurant in Tawas. They should be embarrassed for how unorganized, unprofessional their manager is.

The pancakes, black walleye sandwich, and breakfast nachos are delicious! The small restroom was clean. The service was decent! It was a nice place to stop, right on the beach.

If I could give a lower score I would. They don’t know what they’re doing. Line at the door with no one acknowledging people. Once we were finally sat down, the girl walked away and then we didn’t have anyone come back to the table. Then when we asked for help after waiting literally (not at all exaggerated) 25min, I finally flagged someone down and we were meet with hostility, just for asking if we had a waitress for our section. How this place is in business is solely location. Just know what you get with a place that doesn’t care.

Wife 's mini breakfast was good, bacon, eggs, and hashbrowns very good. I ordered breakfast tacos without green peppers, onions and tomatoes, which apparently was where the flavor was as the sausage may as well been hamburger. Disappointed. But the worst was the Atmosphere (too warm inside because of the exterior dining through a door that did not completely close). That also resulted in too many flies inside. Service was the worst. Girl was friendly, but after we got our meal, was never to be seen again. The unlimited coffee and soda 's is worthless if she is never around to check in on you. Even after waiting for the check she just dropped it off. Never asked us, and flagging her down was unproductive. It wasn 't just us. Another table over, never got a drink update until the meal was over even with another waitress. They may be just about tourists, and if you don 't care if they ever come back, this may be the service you get.
