We picked this cafe as it has a good location, seats outside in the sun and an interesting menu. Sadly this is probably the worst lunch I've ever had. Compares very badly with the extraordinary lunch in sitges yesterday. Tinned mussels and cockles with a bag of salted crisps, not even potatoes, vermouth and a beer which wasn't allowed to be swapped for a coke for €16. And not a smile either. Bad mistakes are made when you are hungry.
Just next to the cathedral a perfect place to have a bite after exploring some of the old town and continuing forwards. Great, friendly service and super nice food. Vegan and vegetarian options available and they won't disappoint! At least the day ended up there it was super healthy and delicious. Wine was also nice. Certainly recommend!
This is a lovely little place outside the Cathedral. Its great for a beer or glass of wine and a snack. They don't have a full kitchen but there are some tasty treats the Tortilla is particularly good and served with delicious fresh tomato bread. Always try to stop off here when we're in Tarragona. They make a nice jug of Sangria too!
The first time we visited this place we were drawn by the ambiance of the place. The inside as well as the outside just looks picturesque. Also the mix of world music was just to our liking and contributed to the very chill looking atmosphere of the place. When we sat down on their outside terrace, it straight away turned out to be the opposite.. The waitress seemed very stressed and told us first thing that she didn 't have time to attend us and that it would take a while. Since we weren 't in a rush, we told her we didn 't mind waiting, so we sat down and waited patiently. No big deal. Service after was okay but the woman was super grumpy and didn 't seem happy at all with her job or with serving us. But still again, no big deal, we all have our bad days right?.. Food and drinks were very good (homemade bio) and price as well, and we had a good time anyways. We decided to come back again another day and this time the whole terrace was empty. There was a girl standing outside smoking a cigarette and this turned out to be the waitress. She attended us really grumpy as if she was angry that we had just interrupted her in her smoking break and didn 't look at us at all when she took our orders. When she brought us the drinks, the glass of wine was dirty with a big lipstick stain on it.. and her face looked like someone had just died. She just put the drinks on the table without saying a word and went back to smoking her cigarette. When she left 15 min later with her jacket and bag (probably end of her shift), she didn 't bother to tell us goodbye or anything, eventhough we were the only customers and she walked right passed us... Bit strange. Since nobody came to check up on us we decided to go inside to pay for our drinks and the woman inside was again super grumpy with a very bad face and not interested in us as customers at all.. All-in-all a very depressing and unsatisfying experience and we decided not to go back here again. It 's such a shame because the place looks so so nice and has so much potential, but the staff makes it feel like you are in a graveyard... We are both travelers and have visited many places before and are not the hardest people to please, but to ask for a smile or at least a minimal amount of interaction with the people who work in a place is not too much to ask is it?..
This tiny place looks as though its a bazaar rather then a restaurant. Its at the top of a grand flight of steps up to the Cathedral in the Plaza. When we visitited it was saturday night and the whole place was a night market with traders dressed up in medieval clothes. The Sha restaurant only has a few tables and a limited menu but it is a lovely venue and a great people-watching place. The food is ethnic and quite cheap. The house is wine is good value at a couple of euros a glass.
