Had a great meal of Chile Rellenos and blue maize Enchiladas. The ingredients had a wonderful taste and the sopapillas were delightful (order extra, so you have the sop up the sauces of your meal and another with honey to eat dessert). She left her property for the moment without an alcohol license, but they work on it and I look forward to coming back and having a margarita with my meal. Service was super friendly a... What Jessica Wineinger doesn't like about Casa De Valdez:
Menu prices are astronomical for the quality of food served Very warm inside with very little air circulating Drink refills are 1.00 each and i couldnt help but drink because of the amount of sweating i was doing View all feedback.
Always have a good experience here. My family and I have been going here for years. Love their barbecue.
The menu prices are exorbitant given the quality of the food served. The interior was very warm with minimal air circulation. Additionally, drink refills cost $1.00 each, and I found myself drinking more than usual due to how much I was sweating.
We are on a road trip and New Mexico has been so lovely to us! We were craving sopapillas after hiking the Rio Grande Gorge and wound up here. We got tamales, a quesadilla, deluxe nachos, a house salad, and extra sopapillas (which were amazing with honey! . Everything was delicious and our whole family cleaned every plate. Our server was kind, welcoming, and accommodating to us out-of-towners. Thank you for such a great experience!
Our last night in Taos, wife and I decided on this place. Highly rated. Couldn't help but see the awards won over the years. Had a special little nook for them when you walk in. We decided to split the steak and shrimp. Her side dish was a salad, mine the baked potato. Steak was ordered medium rare, and it was. The flavor of the steak was good, but it was one of the toughest steaks I've had in a while. By the time you cut all the fat away, we were left with gristle. We managed to eat half, but with so much gristle, we just gave up. Service was good, as was everything else. Our meal, with two teas came to $44. We didn't pay that much for a steak TWICE as big at the Big Texan steakhouse in Amarillo. Since I'm never coming back, lesson learned.
Was looking forward to our meal which was lacking in freshness, flavor and presentation. We all ordered a regrettable house margarita that was watered down and had zero alcohol. For $10 each this was a huge disappointment as they had zero flavor. Ridiculously over priced and the most disappointing meal in our vacation.
