The atmosphere is warm, rustic, clean, and inviting. We tried the duck leg, paella, yucca, both ceviches, and the best Arnold Palmer I've ever had. Everything was absolutely delicious! We were in Taos for a hiking trip and didn't expect to discover a Peruvian restaurant that would impress us so much with its flavor. Delicious! View all feedback.
What Dayne Von doesn't like about Aji:
The food that we received was good. However, they were out of an entire dish (the chupe de camarones), and they had run out of potatoes as well. They mentioned that the Brussels sprouts would come with a huancaína sauce, but what we got was not the traditional huancaína sauce. The food and atmosphere are outstanding. The dishes are not only unique but also incredibly delicious.
First time at restaurant. We got the paella. Very little fish and very small portion!
I got the steak with mashed potatoes and mac n cheese. One of the best meals out I’ve had. All elements of the meal were cooked to perfection and absolutely divine! The potatoes were creamy and cheesy. The mac reminded me of how my mom always made it growing up. The steak was well flavored and cooked to my preference. Very tender and delicious! The price here is higher than a lot of other places in the area but the quality is worth it. I would 100% go again any and every time I’m in Taos. Fantastic date spot for couples visiting town.
Wow!! Please treat yourself and go to this restaurant! The food is top quality and the atmosphere inside is sophisticated and beautiful. I got the Pato duck dish and was astonished by the taste! Service was perfect and I'm leaving so happy.
We were visiting Taos from NJ (a place that considers food the most important part of life). We went to Aji based on the reviews. I ordered the trout with chimichuri and red pepper seasoning. It was mind blowing. The mushroom risotto was really good too but I was distracted by the excellent trout. If you come to Taos you are making a mistake if you don't stop here to eat!
