What Dexter Tromp doesn't like about TGI FRIDAYS - Tampa (Bruce B Downs):
The service was actually better this time around, but the food is still terrible and the place is just dirty. My friends wanted to come here for a late night snack after a movie. I just go for the points. View all feedback.
Two nutritional concerns and unattended service. While my children generally enjoy Fridays, this last experience has made us angry at returning.
The extensive wait times for service resulted in drinks taking over 20 minutes to be served. The rest of the experience can be easily imagined.
This was the first time we've been to a Fridays in 5 years. I used to like them, but this one was so noisy that we could hardly hear each other talk. The food was not very good either. I think we'll skip Fridays from now on.
While the service and everything was great, I was pretty disappointed with one thing. My main concern (and the main reason for me finding a place that took reservations) was finding a place that could sit 13 on Mother’s Day. I was so worried something would happen to our reservation, that I called on the day of to make sure the restaurant had it. And I was assured that not only did they have it, but our table would be ready when we arrived. (Which for me was a big deal because my family was all arriving separately and there’s quite a few small children) However when we arrived, the host that greeted us said there was no reservation listed for open table under my name. He thankfully was able to throw together some tables and fit us in. And before you think it, I triple checked the address of this place to make sure I had the right one. So I’m not sure what happened between 11:30 when I confirmed my reservation and 1:15 when we arrived, but thankfully everything was able to be sorted. It just makes me really nervous to trust open table after this. Or TGI Friday’s for that matter. What if they couldn’t have squeezed us in? What if the very thing we were trying to avoid (which was having to wait an hour or more to be seated) became reality? Even after all the planning? I just think something better can be done to prevent this in the future. On the upside our waitress was nice and attentive. Our food came out fast and was tasty and everyone enjoyed their time.
Meh. It was ok. It was an improvement over last time but it was still just average.
