What User dislikes about Xiū Yuán Sù Shí:
I heard about this place from a friend and went to the breakfast. the employees do not speak English, but offered us a menu in English that was very helpful. we chose the “Seafood” soup, sommeliersuppe and the Taiwanese meatballs that were all somehow in order. my least favorites was the meatballs, the seven had a gentle mild taste, but the broth for the seafood soup tasted down. other diners ordered dinge that looke... If they have a train or a high speed train to catch or only enlightened and feel peckish, xiuyuan vegetarian is not a bad place to go for veggie versions of Taiwanese oriented. my father (which is a carnivore) enjoyed his “Oyster” omelette (ovo-veg), but I didn’t think the broth of the “pork” ballsuppe had any taste. I liked the mixed veggie nudel dish. very affordable, only cash.

Actually I was looking for restaurant youyu in the underground mall of taipei main station. it was closed, but someone called me xiū yuán SùShí. it is easy to find: go over the exit Z8. after a few steps you can right into a smaller road. that is where xiū yuán SùShí is located (trying to recognize it from the photo, there is no western script everywhere . xiū yuán SùShí looks cheap and dirty. people need to share a table. the building and the furniture are old and worn. the open kitchen at the entrance is chaotic. when I entered, I got a large laminated English menu and order (not a friendly request to go out and sit down. a native who helps me choose. he chose fake fish with steamed rice for me, with Chinese drug soup on the side. he also made me taste some of his meal (the suppe from the leaves of the sweet potato was very good! . his selection was the culinary highlight of my trip! they see before I visited the first-class vegan places that offer great food but nothing new. they use familiar ingredients to make meals that I can get anywhere in Asia. xiū yuán SùShí offers authentic Taiwanese taste. the suppe had mushrooms, roots and fruits in that I never tasted. the mockfish had a unique taste and even the dressing on the vegetables was unique. also sitting with the local makes here a more authentic experience. as an extra special bonus, eating is very cheap.

I went for breakfast. It's a busy restaurant but there are a lot of seats. They have English menu but you need to tick on a Taiwanese sheet. Taiwanese meatball had interesting taste. Wonton soup was good but a bit bland. Local people around us ordered more delicious looking meals so if you know what to order it's a good restaurant .

Great location, big selection of vegan/vegetarian food, it’s well known among the locals! Ordering the tofu is a must when you come here!

Right next to the main station. Open early. Been here for 30 years. Wonderful vegan food. Doesn’t get more authentic than this!

I had the vegan cutlet rice. The cutlet was rather dry but the sauce helped and I enjoyed the meal.

The price is really affordable, the oyster omelette was pretty good. The rest of the food is just mediocre, but I can't give it a good review because the owner or boss was just too mean and rude. There's so many vegetarian places nearby that I don't want to go back to this one due to the lady being so mean. I didn't know how to order and she was not helpful at all in trying to help. Half the time it seems like she's yelling. I didn't have a good experience

Since this restaurant sells egg, I just ask myself politely for vegan roasted rice, the owner (female) cried and owes me, rude, surprising, the vegan roasted rice is more expensive than egg one

The biggest advantage for this place is that it opens quite early in comparison to other Veg sites in the area. They make a variety of rice and noodle dishes, as well as some soups, and an oyster omelet that can be made vegan (it seems with seaweed, mushrooms and sweet potato starch), which is actually quite good. Prices are not expensive. I found the dry noodles a little salty and the soups a little bland, but otherwise it makes for a good breakfast. Get some pan-fried rolls of Shang Ding two doors down to really make a solid meal. Many of the items included in the menu egg. The menu is in Chinese and nobody speaks English. However, the restaurant is on Uber Eats and dishes there are clearly as vegan or not, so there could be a good idea for a pick-up order or even as a reference when eating in.

Here sat because it was vegan marked, but turns out that they do not use eggs in the menu with English/Japanese. Nevertheless, a large typical place where the average people in Taiwan seem to eat. The fake goose meat was quite tasteful. Overall, however, the taste is quite simple, which is not bad, but not super interesting;
