Veranda
Description
Perched in Taal Vista Hotel, Cafe Veranda is a scenic Tagaytay destination known for panoramic Taal Lake views, generous Filipino buffets, made-to-order omelets and standout desserts like halo-halo and Volcano Eruption. Guests praise fresh breads, regional specialties (bulalo, crispy pata, tawilis), live cultural performances on weekends, and family-friendly outdoor seating. While many find the value, variety and ambiance excellent, service can be uneven at times and waits for billing or seating may occur — reservations are recommended for prime views and weekend shows.

The four-cheese pizza was amazing, especially the gorgonzola, which was the highlight of the meal. The pepperoni pizza was average, though. On the other hand, the Filipino-style carbonara was superb, and the pancit luglog was both hearty and delicious. The drinks were satisfactory. The service was outstanding, and there was ample parking available. Since we were staying at the hotel, parking was free. We enjoyed dinner there.
I found the dessert section particularly enjoyable, where I could create my own sundae and savor an incredible halo-halo topped with traditional ube halaya and macapuno. Additionally, there was an abundance of kakanin (rice cakes) and made-to-order crepes. The dining experience was further enhanced by a vibrant cultural show featuring dances from three different regions, presented in two sets. I spent my entire afternoon relishing the buffet while enjoying the company of family and friends. I highly recommend making a reservation in advance, preferably for a table close to the stage, to get the best view of the performance. As for parking, it is available on-site and complimentary if validated through your dining experience.
Ate at Cafe Veranda located inside Taal Vista Hotel twice during our one night stay in Tagaytay City. We had dinner when we first arrived. I was advised by a relative to order the Special Halo-Halo so we immediately ordered that as our snack from our 4-hour drive. The halo-halo which is a Filipino dessert of mixed beans, coconut jelly, jackfruit, etc. topped with shaved ice and garnished with ube ice cream and flan, was served in a whole young coconut shell. The rest of the party ordered the bulalo which is a beef shank stew with marrow, corn, and Napa cabbage. Also tried other Pinoy dishes that are local to the area such as fried tawilis which are fished right off the Taal Lake. The menu also offered other items such as pastas, pizzas, and burgers. The kiddos had pasta dishes which were met with great approval. The next day, also had the complimentary breakfast buffet. The buffet had a good selection of pastries, meats, fruits, and offered an omelette station and a salad bar. The staff service was exceptional in my opinion. They were attentive and cleared the plates efficiently. The restaurant was clean and brightly lit with floor to ceiling windows all around that looks out to the view of the Taal Volcano and Taal Lake.
Who doesn 't love a good breakfast? Well, honestly, I 'm not a big breakfast person. But when I get ready for it whether it 's for an impromptu breakfast at a restaurant near the house on weekends, or for when I go out of town. One thing is definite I 'm more for the simple or the basic staples when it comes to breaking my fast. During one of my stays, I was able to leisurely enjoy my breakfast (with help from a good night 's sleep, of course) and sampled what felt like two items from each station on the buffet spread. There was a whole station with an assortment of breads, picadillo, chicken sausage, tocino, champorado, do it yourself arrozcaldo, a few choices for cereals, a selection of fruits, an on the spot cooking station for omelet, and even a salad bar. What really made my morning was the freshly cooked French toast, warm, fluffy and straight from the griddle. I paired it with their hot chocolate which was (I 'm 99% sure) made of native cocoa or tablea. After my very rich meal, I waited a bit by reading the day 's broadsheet, and downed a glass of their cucumber lemonade before leaving. I had fuel and was refreshed, ready for my exciting day.
