Description

In Taft, this casual BBQ spot earns praise for smoky, generous meats—especially its pastrami and brisket—served with classic sides like chili, cornbread and potato salad. Portions are large and prices reasonable; desserts and sweet tea are delightful finishes. Service is friendly and generally quick, though some items (burgers, ribs) can be hit-or-miss and chilled BBQ sauce or inconsistent temperatures have been noted. The roomy, attractively decorated interior can run warm due to aging air conditioning, so takeout is a good option on hot days.

Always looking for a good BBQ and I'm in Taft. I like the smokers who smoke in the parking lot. Ends until the grilled Brisket Burrito gets. Wowsers was the meat. Delicious, delicate with exactly the right amount of fat. Will definitely be back when I have to come to Taft.

We ate there a few weeks ago and got a pastrami that was very good. However, I ordered a burger and my husband ordered a pulled pig. Burger had no taste and the pulled pig was decent, but the bbq sauce she gave you for a hot sandwich was cold refrigerator. When we go back, we definitely order the pastrami.

Excellent service. The staff is great and the food is even better. The tri tip was wonderful and my daughter got the Cuban. It's an older building and the air doesn't work well, so if you are hot natured, you may want to get it to go. It was hot, but the friendliness of the staff and the good food made it better. If you’re from the South like we are, they have sweet tea!!!!

Great little BBQ joint in TAFT. Definitely worth visiting. Had the Baked potato couldn't finish it. It was huge and delicious

Got the 3 meat plate with double briske and pork ribs. The meal came with maize bread, chili and potato salad. Either I get older and can't eat so much or they give big portions I think it's both) The brisket was nicely smokey and fat. My only complaint is that it was chopped, not cut. The smoke taste is still in my mouth, as I type this. The ribs were fine, not the best, but the worst. Everything else was good. I liked the bacon in the potato salad and the corn in the chilli. All for $20. And I have enough for lunch tomorrow
