The Blue Anchor - Tadworth

The restaurant has been nicely renovated and tastefully decorated. The staff is friendly and helpful, and there is ample parking available.

We came here for Sunday roast, only to be told after being seated and receiving our drinks that there was no beef available. We ended up having pork instead, and I requested only peas for my vegetables. When our food arrived, I only had peas on my plate, without sausage, bacon, or crackling, while my wife had all the components. After asking for my wife's vegetables and my missing crackling and sausage, my wife received hers and I eventually got my sausage, but the crackling was never brought out. They did reduce our bill without us asking at the end, but overall it was not a great experience. The week before, we came in for lunch and they were also out of chicken, so it seems they need to improve their stock management.

Lovely atmosphere and decor inside, food was tasty and a good selection to choose from

Although we’ve eaten at this establishment a few times and been very happy with everything this time we had to wait a while to be seated even though plenty of seating was available (maybe not enough staff on duty? . The service this time was very slow and we had to ask to be served. The delivery of the food was also very slow and the main course was also delivered before the starters had been cleared. So overall not a great dining experience this time although the food was very nice.
