Contribute FeedbackThe Blue Anchor recently underwent renovations, but some customers were disappointed by the lack of basic service standards. Issues included tough lamb, missing ingredients in dishes, slow service, and cold starters. However, there were positive comments about the flavors of the food, friendly staff, and accommodating service. Some stand-out dishes included calamari and chipotle chicken starters, as well as pork belly with crackling. Despite some inconsistencies in food quality, the overall atmosphere of the restaurant was welcoming and the staff were commended for their attentiveness to customers, including accommodating special requests. Recommended for dog-friendly dining and handling large groups.
Second time we’ve been here and have to say we love it here, great food and a good selection of drinks, table service was brilliant especially by our waiters and especially Harry, thank you Blue Anchor would definitely recommend and will definitely return and soon hopefully.
Had a fantastic meal with friends at the Blue Anchor. Looked after very professionally by Berry who accommodated my many and weird requests, and added so much to our enjoyment. Thanks Berry and Blue Anchor team
Lovely atmosphere, nice surroundings and ambience, excellent food and service, helpful barman, knew his stuff.
Had a take away . Orded beef Sunday lunch . Got 1 small slice of beef . Really poor . Nothing like the last time a few weeks ago .
Came for Saturday lunch to try out as we had been to the Dukes head down the road. We tried sitting outside but the seats were so low and not very comfortable so went inside to eat instead. Waiters aftershave a bit over powering but staff very good. Both my partner had a hankering for fish and chips. Not quite as good as the Dukes head but still very nice. Fish did not seem as plump but the batter was lovely and crispy.
