Have visited here multiple times with my family and have never been disappointed. Marion (Owner) is always incredibly friendly and welcoming and makes some absolutely delicious food too. All of the food from the 'regular ' menu is great and I personally love the Philly Cheese Steak, however the Sunday lunch is also a great one. Large quantities of delicious meats and potatoes with veggies will definitely set you up f... View all feedback.
Its taken us some time for us to eventually get to experience the Fergies sunday lunch and it wasn 't disappointing. We are quite new in the tableview area and have mistakenly been to a few other local restaurants usually ending up disappointed.<br/ <br/ Fergies Sunday lunch is delicious and great value, we opted for the 'small ' portion for R90 and it was still quite filling with tender and delicious beef, gammon and lamb as well as delicious roast tatties, Yorkshire pudding and a generous portion of nicely cooked veggies.<br/ <br/ Having tried a few sunday lunch options in the area, nobody comes close to Fergies for quality and value.<br/ <br/ Fergies is an honest and real English style pub with a lovely welcoming atmosphere and great food, their prices are also very good when compared some of the other establishments nearby.
Our second day in Cape Town we struck up a conversation with a woman while waiting on line at the market. Learned she owns a restaurant nearby, eponymously called Fergies. We had a personal invitation to stop on by, and we did hours later and were greeted like long lost friends by Marian Ferguson, whose personal touch was everywhere evident in this 'gastropub ' featuring home-style British food. All was meticulously cooked to order, ranging from our fish and chips to burgers, Guinness baked meat pie and Irish pie, accompanied with hearty gravy and served with delightful South African wines. The deserts were spectacular, my personal favorite being the apple crumble. Most of our number are Americans, with a Scot and an expat thrown in, so it was home cooking with a bit of a twist for most of us, but truly comfort food for all. Heartily recommended!
Fergies is a real local gem with a proper Northern Pub vibe right in the heart of Tableview. Not to mention the great quality of food and service offered at great prices.Marian is a fantastic host and cook (you have to try her homemade pies and puddings), and makes Fergies the best local pub in the area!
The best British South African establishment I have ever been to in Africa. The food is prepared with the correct ingredients, that is lacking in other establishments. The beers are the all the real thing. The whiskey are great and most of all,the place welcomes all.
Once I came here for a Sunday roast it was very nice and a new experience for me to eat Irish food but I enjoyed it with a Guiness! Try new things you only live once!
