Was TheresaStowell at Daybird a mag?
Located inside a large office building (to the right after entering the main door), this spot allows you to place your order ahead of time for a quick pickup. I ordered the breakfast sandwich with egg and cheese, and was impressed with the excellent roll and tofu egg. The cheese was good, but not what I expected - it was more like a spread than the usual melted sliced cheese. I also grabbed some soup for lunch, which... View all feedback.
What Eva Webb dislikes about Daybird:
The sandwiches at this restaurant were good and reasonably priced, but the coffee was just okay. I decided to eat here because I needed something gluten-free after a short visit to Syracuse during a road trip. Unfortunately, I was disappointed to see that the food preparers were not wearing masks. My disappointment grew when the person handling my order put on gloves immediately after wiping his nose with a napkin. I... View all feedback.
I finally had the chance to try DayBird and I just wish I had gone sooner! This charming little restaurant is located inside a larger building. I usually get anxious about parking downtown, so I decided to call in my order ahead of time. I parked in front, walked in, and picked up my food without any hassle. I ordered the chili braised short rib sandwich with poblano and corn chowder, along with a side of chipotle-lime pasta salad. Everything was absolutely delicious and now I can't wait to go back and try more of their sandwiches and soups! The chowder was filled with corn, potato, bacon, and cheese, bursting with flavor. The pasta salad was also amazing, perfectly cooked with no mushy pasta. The sandwich was grilled and crispy, just the way I like it, and the pickled red onions tied all the flavors together beautifully. DayBird is now my new go-to spot for a quick and tasty lunch.
I have discovered a new favorite spot for quick and convenient meals! Perfect for those working in downtown area. Although it is a small establishment that may be a bit challenging to locate, the doorman is always helpful. I appreciate that they offer Mexican-inspired dishes and cater to those with vegetarian/vegan diets. My go-to dishes here are the cardamom granola (highly recommended) and the chorizo breakfast sandwich. During my last visit, I tried their dining week menu for $10 and was impressed with the quality and value. I savored the cumin garlic sandwich, tomato and corn soup, and chipotle lime pasta salad. The sandwich was generously sized and the chicken was cooked perfectly with a flavorful char. The pasta salad had a delicious spicy chipotle taste that didn't require any additional hot sauce. I was so satisfied that I saved the soup for dinner, which was creamy and had a pleasant hint of chilies and crunchy croutons. The owners are welcoming and the service is quick. I highly recommend this spot for a tasty and convenient meal option.

It is basic food safety protocol to wash your hands after touching your face, especially after blowing your nose. Gloves do not stay clean if you touch them with dirty hands. Hopefully, we have all learned from the past two years that handwashing is a simple yet effective way to prevent the spread of illnesses, especially in food service settings.
Good breakfast sandwiches, haven't made it for lunch. Fresh baked coffee cakes and delicious cookies.
