Something new and different. Gave them a shot after getting bored at the standard diner and I was rewarded with great staff and food. I plan on going back to check out the lunch and dinner menu after having their Chicken and Waffles. I’m not even a fan of waffles but their version is mouthwatering. I recommend Grandma’s House for fans of diner style settings and unique menu items. View all feedback.

Makes me miss my great grandmother! This place puts the soul in soul food. No complaints here!
YES! A local chicken and waffles place!! My first exposure to chicken n' waffles was over in L.A., at Roscoe's. Though L.A. might not exactly the birthplace of chicken and waffles, the founders are from N.Y. and I'm sure their recipe bear legit roots. Grandma's was no exception. Everything I ordered today was as soulful as I had imagined in my head and remembered from years ago. Sadly I hadn't had chicken and waffles in a good 10 years-or-so, since the short-lives splurge I had back in L.A., but when Grandma's appeared on my Yelp search the other day, I got really excited and *had* to check them out. Last Monday was the first attempt, only to realize they're closed on Monday, so I regretfully had to go across the street to a run-down Chinese place. (Which by the way wasn't bad at all.. it was just *exactly* what you would expect from a Chinese place around the corner) Chicken n' Waffles it was for me today! Plus a side of greens!! Two thirds into my delicious meal I discovered that they had cheesy grits on the menu, and had to contain myself from ordering another side-dish knowing I was getting full already. Come to think of it, it doesn't make sense for them to not have grits on their menu. I just wasn't looking hard enough. Oh well, there's always a next time! (Like tomorrow, maybe.. lol) I also had a warm peach cobbler for dessert, which was also very satisfying. They had offered vanilla bean ice cream a la mode, but had run out.. It *DEFINITELY* would have taken the pie to another level so I'll be asking for one next time. So many things I wanna try. I'll be back with co-workers. I'll be back with my family. I might be back for Sunday, even though it's completely out of the way. Next up, fried catfish or baby back ribs!!
Great food, pleasant staff! Tried the meatloaf which was awesome and the chicken and waffles. Everything was good!
Bomb food, nice place, good people. Menu could prolly use a little work but that's about it.
First time there yesterday! Loved the food! My waitress Megan greeted me with a smile and was so nice! Can’t wait to go back on a Sunday for Greens and Dressing!
