How much better my visit could be if only they would offer GF options. Most Cafe's can offer GF bread to be used with their menu, even if it is kept in the freezer. This does mean I am reluctant to meet my friends and dine there. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Pavement:
A shame that this cafe does not cater for food allergies, especially gluten intolerance. With a supermarket right next door, they couldn't even run in and buy a loaf of GF bread. Breakfast was ordinary and prices are not cheap. Outside area was pleasant. Coffee was good. View all feedback.
This cafe is in the Sylvania Southgate complex. There is a large menu with ridiculous prices, Greek salad $19.50, fish and chips $27, salmon bagel $27. They are licensed but that doesn't excuse their ridiculous prices. I opted for the pancakes with banana and was...asked if I wanted cream, yoghurt or ice cream. I wasn't told that it was extra until I paid the bill. I queried it and was told by the old blonde haired woman that it wasn't on the menu so it was extra. I was a little annoyed and she then went on to tell me that being rude caused me wrinkles. Yes, this is someone who works in the service industry. The woman clearly needs a new profession. Don't waste your money here.
Have been to this Cafe several times. The meals are large. Had the best lasagne. My husband loved his pork belly. Chicken snitzells superb. I would highly recommend this Cafe.
This place is quite busy, and I suggest this is because it is the only sit down place in the centre. Had a morning tea, and this was well serviced by the wait staff, and the coffee was good. Was working nearby and came back...for a late lunch. We were shown an extensive and expensive menu, however when opted for a sandwich off the standard menu the sigh and frown came. The sandwiched were good, but the mood had changed. The coffee in the afternoon was not as good as the one in the morning!
I can't believe all the negative reviews. I frequently dine with friends at this restaurant and have never been disappointed. The staff is friendly and accommodating, always willing to provide hot water or split a plate for us.
Three of us ordered two large cappuccinos and a large latte along with three vanilla slices at a café with table service. We were charged $4.50 for each coffee, which is standard, and $8.95 for each vanilla slice, totaling $40.35. When I questioned why my bill was $44, I was informed that it was because I had paid with cash instead of my debit card. To my surprise, I was told that if I had taken the vanilla slices to go, they would have only cost $6.50 each, saving me $3.45 per slice. I found this pricing discrepancy to be quite astonishing. If I had known, I could have taken the slices to go and enjoyed them with our coffees, ultimately saving me $10.35.
