Fortunately I was wearing a t-shirt and pants when I visited Valencia for the first time because let me tell you.. it is HOT! HOT prices, HOT service, HOT room, HOT staff, HOT food and HOT quality produce! Valencia brought the heat, the meat and let me tell you, there was no need for any receipt *Note: it is cash only). No refunds here people, just a sandwich bar that knows what its diehard consumers are after ... SA... View all feedback.
What Theresa Ritchie doesn't like about Valencia Sandwich Bar:
budget friendly place, especially for lunch. a colleague pointed to the place and we tried her pork also with cracking and chickens. Although the pork tasted well, it was on the saltier side, probably because of the crack. even the portions were huge, if not for salate and tomato, I would not have been able to end the half of it. more suitable for people who like meat more than whole sandwich or a pack. once that was... What a great find! I have been walking past this little place for a couple of years now and never ventured in, what a mistake. They serve everything you would expect of a 1980's milkbar, and the prices are ridiculous for a place in the middle of the Sydney CBD. I had a burger with egg cheese, freshly cooked for about $7! And it only gets better, they are massive Liverpool Football Club fans, the place loaded with memorabilia to check out as your burger is cooked. Look, it certainly isn't a first date kinda joint, but it is a burger chips or sandwich a few times a week kinda place!
Found this little gem after exploring Darling Harbour and decided to return the next morning for a Big Breakfast. There is limited seating but what there is is along a bar/counter facing out the window into Kent street and lets you watch the world go by while you enjoy your meal The Big Breakfast was inexpensive, large and tasted great. Don 't expect a silver service style visit but rather enjoy the old style corner cafe experience. We did and loved it.
If you were wondering where all the simple old style sandwiches have gone in Sydney, you can get them here for as little as $5. Decent ingredients but nothing fancy, just simple and good value. The fancier meals might be even better value roast pork and beef cut off the slab in the window and great value cooked meals in the window. Cash only but the staff are fast and friendly. Gets a lot of customers even outside of lunch hour.
This old-style Greek takeaway on the fringe of the CBD beats the trendy cafes and eateries on price and quality. Freshly-made sandwiches, rolls and wraps plus a range of hot dishes, and some of the best hamburgers in the city. John, Helen and staff run a friendly and welcoming shop. You are always assured of a good feed.
First day had big breakfast for 8 Ausd 2 eggs, sausage, lots of bacon, beans, chips (for breakfast! and toast. Second day great toasted bacon sandwiches. Great little place, good prices too. Busy and I can see why!
