What mrdom dislikes about Ippudo:
Went for the $10 1st of the month special and they made a big thing out of getting you to use the table QR code, so they could charge fees and so that the only $10 ramen available would be the most basic. I went inside to use cash and because you could get any ramen and they lied about what was available on the app. It might be ok if the ramen was as good as it used to be but it was vey bland ramen with just one slic... Awesome restaurant.. ful of energic and funny staff. Good food and enjoyable place. The food safety is high.. if u love to japanese food and ramen, come and enjoy.
My go-to ramen restaurant! Always a fantastic experience when I dine here. The staff is full of energy, attentive and accomodating. I love having a choice between the firmness of the noodles and the broth is well balanced. I never leave without grabbing a pork bun as well! Easy 5 stars
This place had changed a lot since the last time I visited (couple of years ago). Their menu has so much variety - I had a really hard time choose what to order as there was only two of us. We ordered a shiromaru tamago ramen (very wholesome and hearty), salmon aburi mental roll (the salmon was so soft and perfectly cooked, overall very tasty), chicken wings (the salty pepper dressing made the whole dish, chicken was very crispy) and Angus beef steak with deep fried mushroom on top (the steak was tasty but a little dry, the fried mushroom was a bit too oily). You won't be disappointed if you came here for a casual after work meal, just be prepared to wait in line for a little while. takenbyfood.wordpress.com
Seared salmon sushi just melts in your mouth. Ippudo - a Japanese restaurant, is known for its ramen. It has over 80 restaurants worldwide. We went to the restaurant located on the food court level of Westfields, Pitt St Mall. This restaurant is constantly busy, a queue of people is often found at the front of the restaurant. There is ample seating inside the restaurant and some seating available at the front of the restaurant. To start off, we tried the Japanese Yam Fries. Mountain yams cut into small sticks, deep fried and dusted with seaweed salt. A side of soy mayo was served with the fries. I only liked the smaller crispy pieces of yam and liked it on its own. The bigger pieces were a bit mushy. I'm undecided about the mayo, not sure if I liked it or not as it tasted a bit weird. Despite this, it was smooth, rich and creamy. The seared salmon sushi was so good. The sushi just melts in your mouth, so soft, creamy and delicious with a slight crunch from the cucumber and ? panko crumbs. Not enough to share but worth coming back for. For our main meal, we both ordered a ramen each. We ordered the Karaka-men (tonkotsu broth, thin wavy noodles, spicy minced pork miso, pork belly, bean sprouts, spring onion, and roasted cashews) and Akamaru Shinaji (tonkotsu broth with miso paste and garlic oil, thin noodles, pork belly, black fungus, and spring onion which we removed from the dish). There are 3 types of firmness for the noodles from hard to soft. For the Karaka-men, hard noodles was recommended for this dish but I chose medium. The waitress was no help when asked about firmness and what was recommended. Medium firmness is apparently recommended for the Akamaru Shinji, this information was not given by the same waitress. The Karaka-men soup was creamy, salty and spicy - a nice combination of flavors. The pork belly was soft but was not enough. The freshness came from the bean sprouts and green onion. Because the broth was piping hot, I could have gone with hard noodles as the noodles were a bit soft by the end of my meal. The Akamaru Shinji was also tasty - creamy, salty, garlicky, nicely balanced. I really wanted to try the Matcha Cheese Tart but was too full, next time. I will be back to try the other dishes.

The Ippudo restaurant in Sydney has received mixed reviews from customers. Many felt that the quality of the ramen has dropped, with bland flavors, minimal toppings, and high prices being major complaints. Some diners found the food to be ordinary and overpriced, while others enjoyed the crispy chicken karage and attentive service. One customer recommended visiting on the first day of the month for a $10 ramen special. Overall, the restaurant is known for its energetic staff, extensive menu options, and quick service, making it a popular spot for those looking for a Japanese dining experience.

Went for the $10 1st of the month special and they made a big thing out of getting you to use the table QR code, so they could charge fees and so that the only $10 ramen available would be the most basic. I went inside to use cash and because you could get any ramen and they lied about what was available on the app. It might be ok if the ramen was as good as it used to be but it was vey bland ramen with just one slice of chewy pork. Fast track to the bottom of the ramen chain.
One may always feel its unlikely any international 'chain ' can deliver consistent quality--this belief is in place because we already know its unlikely to be achieved with any Australian F B endeavor., so it was that today, somewhat fearful of the worst, I braved passing through the doors of the nicely sited spaciously set up IPPODO at Central Park. I was seated with a direct uninterrupted view of a lousy set of gas cylinders+general back room stuff in a room whose doorway any decent manager should NEVER allow be left able to be seen by any client seated in the restaurant. I ordered one of their superior sic offerings that had a nicer cut of pork belatedly realising I 'd set myself up for a VERY expensive ramen lunch indeed by coming here the basic bowl, without extras, was $24!!! ..I decided to go for broke have the $1 extras ,, ON TOP of the $24! . . they being just 3 slices of seaweed+ one so-called seasoned egg ?uh? +2 extra slices of pork. Thank heavens I went for broke..the dish was quite ordinary value-wise worth barely half the money asked. There are MANY places in Sydney charging far less yet delivering a far better ramen dare I say it , more authentically handsome/richly satisfying than what 's being served here...... Attentive thoughtful service sure...but my honest tip is : every first day of the month ...they serve a choice of one of two ramen for just $10 each....that in fact is all it is worth! that 's THE ONLY day you should ever go here. The ONLY!
This Ippudo branch has become a huge disappointment. The signature Shiromaru Tomago was so avearge during this visit. Thin, watery broth without much pork flavour, the noodles were cool and did not blend well at all. The big slap in the face was the one, smaller than my hand thin slice of Pork Loin. This for $18 for a small bowl. For any more pork they would have slugged me another $5. Very minimal toppings in the bowl throughout. I was stunned at how average this was. Possibly the most ordinary ramen I have had anywhere. This is the third (and worst) time I have had such an average ramen here. Time to forgo Ippudo, there are so many better ramen places in Sydney now that offer reasonable size bowls with more toppings, flavour and consistency at a decent price.
Great service and very accommodating. They went out of there way to take care of us. Location is next to a chocolate bar yum!

The price was higher than average, but i wasnt completely full, also thought the ramen would come with bamboo shoots and nori, like others with similar price points, but they are add ons, and would be too expensive.
The food was great but service was a bit unfriendly towards my group upon arrival.
Great service and as usual excellent Ramen. The Spicy Goma is an excellent starter if you like spicy flavours. The Tori Shoyu is a chicken broth Ramen and goes well with the hard noodles.
There are several Ippudo restaurants in Sydney, but the one located in Westfield Sydney is the best. It's fascinating how, despite being the same chain, the quality can vary. Ippudo Westfield truly stands out among the others. I rate this place 5 bears!
There's no doubt in my mind that Ippudo is one of the world's most consistent incredible ramen experiences one can have.<br/ <br/ No matter which outlet I have ramen at — Sydney, Melbourne, Thailand, Singapore — they're all great and taste almost identical, in the best way.<br/ <br/ I got the limited offer Kuro ramen with the black pepper and garlic oil and man, was that satisfying. Super unctuous, rich, velvety, and utterly delicious. I will be back for the hundredth time next time I'm craving ramen.<br/ <br/ Ippudo Kuro: 9.5/10

Excellent and authentic. Quick service, hot food, attentive staff. Relaxing environment. Would definitely come again.
Absolutely fantastic! I've only ordered takeout since the office is close by, but I can highly recommend the ramen—it's bursting with flavor! I can't wait to sample some of the other dishes on the menu soon.
This is the best ramen I've tasted outside of Japan, and even surpasses some I've had while there. It was my first visit, and I'll definitely be returning. The atmosphere is lovely, with jazz music playing in the background, and the staff is very friendly. The prices are reasonable considering the outstanding quality of the food.
Had their Ippudo Kuro ramen (with black garlic and Kara miso/ spicy miso), wagyu steak rice, and pork belly buns. They were all very tasty! The broth of Kuro ramen is different and has unique fragrant from the garlic and the spicy miso paste. Wagyu steak rice was generous in portion. The steak slices were juicy and tender. Service was quick and very friendly.
