I’m a local. Glad it’s here, and open most dates, unlike many. A little oasis, shaded seating, good coffee, and fairly consistent. It’s food is ok, it’s not cheap. Service is ok, but can be slow too. Location location… View all feedback.
What Katrina G doesn't like about Botanic Gardens Restaurant:
Food was nicely presented but all were lacking in taste and seasoning. Very disappointing. Plus, the waitress spilt some of our champagne when pouring. Best thing about the experience was the view outside. View all feedback.
We went for lunch for Mothers day on a Saturday. It was a set menu for $100.The food was great and ample portions. The plates were all fresh and yummy. It is Vietnamese food by a very well known chef Luke Nguyen.I loved the chicken salad as entree and the mains were barramundi and also beef short ribs. Location is in the middle of the royal Botanical garden in Sydney. When we went it was full Prices were reasonable I would go back anytime
The service was great. The food and wine pairing was perfect. Couldn’t rate the food any higher. Beautifully presented. We will be back.
We had been given a red Bali on voucher and decided while in Sydney to go here and what an experience it was. The staff were exceptional from the moment we entered the restaurant ushering us ato a table ‘with a view’ across the botanical garden and harbour. My husband was concerned that we would be hungry but this was definitely not the case. The food came out in a timely manner (each course explained) and was a real taste sensation. We had the package that included a cocktail, wine (we opted for a mock tail each) and coffee. The photos don’t do it justice but I would encourage you to put this on your to do list and make a day out of it.
I am having no joy in writing this review. Times are tough for us all. But we paid good money for a poor experience. Unforgettable food, for all the wrong reasons. Luke, you need to be more hands-on. The degustation menu was 'lazy ', bland and lacked flavours. And mostly cold dishes. Only 8 tables occupied and they still missed our table when serving the food.
Stunning setting and food, excellent wait staff, good value. The dumplings were so clever and beautifully presented, the Chicken salad generous with great variety of ingredients and the Spring rolls also very generous.
