The food was delicious - we tried prawns in gi... read more I had the pleasure of dining at The Crofty for the first time since I was a child, and it was absolutely amazing! The food was delicious - we tried prawns in ginger sauce, pork in apple cider, and Camembert with onion salsa for starters. The leek chicken pancake we both ordered was incredible, with huge pancakes smothered in a cheese sauce and served with peas, carrots, chips, and sauté potatoes. We even had enough to take some home! Despite the restaurant being busy when we arrived, our order was taken quickly and our starters arrived promptly. The young waitress was incredibly polite and attentive, making our dining experience even more enjoyable. I can't wait to come back, maybe next time to try the Sunday lunch. 10/10!

After 65 years, I found a bread and butter pudding that's better than my own! The delicious Sunday roast was beautifully presented, accompanied by a heavenly bread and butter pudding, and served by attentive and knowledgeable staff. It was a fantastic dining experience. We were a bit doubtful as our holiday accom hosts said that some recent previous guests weren’t overly impressed and they suggested another local place instead. We ended up trying both and...preferred this one! Beef curry and slow roast lamb both a hit, as were the kids’ burgers, albeit with slightly excessive portions of chips. There was a nice comfy seating area near our table that looked inviting, although I think the coffee area could do with a facelift.

The atmosphere was nice as well. I would recommend giving it a try. Dine in for dinner, expect to spend around £20-30 per person. Food was rated 4, service 2, and atmosphere 4.
