Feedback
At the Cockleshell restaurant, diners experience a mixed bag of culinary offerings. While some praise the delicious carvery and attentive staff, others express disappointment over food quality, noting overcooked dishes and a lack of freshness. The ambiance resembles a workman’s club, and despite the friendly service, it often struggles with being understaffed. Many appreciate the variety of meats and unlimited vegetables available, though issues like sticky tables and equipment failures can detract from the experience. Although feedback is varied, the restaurant has shown significant improvement, leaving some hopeful for future visits amidst the challenges.
We were very disappointed today by our carveries. at the beginning I ordered a bark and a gammon meal, but both take boxes had a small piece ever in. we love our veg, why only veg on offer. today or have the pick-up boxes less than all others inherited, carrots, cauliflower and cauliflower!!!! most are burned. overall it was a tasteless meal and most of it went in the müll! as they see from my previous reviews, we enjoy in the regular a good meal from here, but today was not one of them. I have to come back here for one more.
My man and I had a caries yesterday and were disappointed with eating. the food was tasteless and overcooked. it seemed that it was too long. also the filling and the yorkshire pudding were hard and we had to. they'll throw them off if we knocked our teeth. we also had to wait for minutes while the chef served two people with takeaways who created a static waiting queue. very disappointed by our visit. the staff was great, very polite and friendly.
Visit today shortly after the hurry to get brilliant service start with Dean who was presented quickly and professionally and well, who after rhian on the line that could chat to an empty room.
The food is often really tasty. The restaurant itself looks and feels like a workmans club and shabby. The staff are great and friendly but always short staffed and incredibly busy. I have never seen so many obese people in one place.
