Want a good birthday cake? Then grab something here! Cakes are to die for - not cheap but for what they are you can't go wrong. Coffee, macaroons & croissants are also damn good. View all feedback.
What Anonym dislikes about Choux Cafe:
Until recently I visited Choux up to three times a week. In the last few weeks I was "served" by a new employee who is simply arrogant and rude, and I'm not the only one who noticed. I... never had bad service in Choux and loved to get my morning coffee in this beautiful little cafe, but no desire to get with the new madly confronted girl behind the counter that has now not only ruined my morning, but now one of my f... Choux is famous for its macarons, and used to be managed by the celebrated French chef Emannuel Mollois before his sad passing from bone cancer in 2017. It had been a while since our last visit and we decided to pop in for some takeaway afternoon tea following a brunch at the beach. As we arrived, the pastry chef was just transporting a huge and very delicious looking gateau to a client’s car – it looked amazingly good.
A note to anyone who does not eat egg: this wonderful patisserie does a 'Joseph Cake ' which is a circular mille-feuille type of layered pastry-cake with alternate layers of freshly made choux pastry and vanilla cream (fresh whipped and thickened without gelatine) augmented with fresh berries (raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, strawberry) and which is not too sweet either. This is visually beautiful, large and not too sweet. Has to be pre-ordered. I have ordered it many times and every time it is simply a hit. Not expensive. A true home-made, home-created beauty.
Really friendly service. Everything we had was amazing. No complaints at all. We ordered too much, our eyes were bigger than our stomachs but seriously hard not to buy everything in a place like this. My suggestion is share with a friend and try everything!
Today's review comes from beautiful Western Australia. Christine, a brave and determined resident of sunny Perth, visited three different patisseries in search of éclairs. She was supported by her husband, Jason, and daughters, Isobel and Abigail, on this courageous adventure. A big shoutout to Team WA! Here is her experience...
Definitely try the croissants at this restaurant, but stay away from the coffee at all costs. I always opt for the croissants here. They are flaky, crunchy, and delicious. Perfect for a snack after a day of surfing. Take them home, add some butter and jam, and you'll feel like you're in heaven.
