Today's review comes from beautiful Western Australia. Christine, a brave and determined resident of sunny Perth, visited three different patisseries in search of éclairs. She was supported by her husband, Jason, and daughters, Isobel and Abigail, on this courageous adventure. A big shoutout to Team WA! Here is her experience...
Definitely try the croissants at this restaurant, but stay away from the coffee at all costs. I always opt for the croissants here. They are flaky, crunchy, and delicious. Perfect for a snack after a day of surfing. Take them home, add some butter and jam, and you'll feel like you're in heaven.
The macarons at this restaurant are fantastic and reasonably priced. The butterscotch macaron is a must-try. The mango, lemon, and tropical fruit flavors are also delicious and moist. However, be cautious as some macarons may be slightly stale, especially in gift packs. It's best to create your own gift pack or box. If buying in bulk, consider trying one of each flavor before purchasing a larger quantity.
Cannot thank the chef (Bryan) and staff enough for the amazing effort that was put in to creating the amazing cake and Bonbonniere for our recent wedding. The raspberry mousse cake had guests going back for seconds and the boxes of custom macarons were a beautiful end to the festivities. Amazing care and consideration, recommend Choux Cafe highly for any bespoke catering needs.
Choux is famous for its macarons, and used to be managed by the celebrated French chef Emannuel Mollois before his sad passing from bone cancer in 2017. It had been a while since our last visit and we decided to pop in for some takeaway afternoon tea following a brunch at the beach. As we arrived, the pastry chef was just transporting a huge and very delicious looking gateau to a client’s car – it looked amazingly good.
