We were delighted to find La Cortevilla for our stay in western Tuscany. Marinella and Paulo are the most hospitable, warm, friendly and considerate hosts you could care to find. La Cortevilla is a working organic farm which also subscribes to the unique Italian 'agrotourism ' project. We stayed for six nights in June 2017 using it as a base for our exploration of the Livorno and Grosseto areas of Tuscany. The farm house is typically Truscan in design and build into which Marinella and Paulo have skilfully inserted three en-suite letting rooms – with an extension under construction for what looks like additional rooms. Our room, as were the others from the glimpses we had of them, of good size with high ceiling (enough for a mezzanine floor in one of the other rooms with en-suite shower/bathroom and window opening out onto the courtyard of the farm. The room was clean and inviting with a very comfortable large double bed plus a bunk bed so as to cater for a family, if desired. There was plenty of hanging and drawer space. The bathroom had a shower, large wash basin, bidet and toilet all clean and well maintained. Being Vegan we opted to take the optional evening meal (not available Tuesdays or Fridays and the food was excellent. Breakfast consists of plenty of fresh organic fruits and nuts from their garden, breads, biscuits, fresh home made tart or cake (courtesy of Paulo , juice, (soya yoghurt, coffee, selection of black and herb teas, etc., and probably cheeses and other dairy produce for Vegetarians but everyone eat Vegan during our stay. The evening meals were delightful, tasty and inventive consisting of salad, prima, pasta, seconda and desert courses – we certainly did not go hungry – and we could not have been more delighted (and that is from someone who was a professional chef and ran a Vegan resort for fifteen years – Marinella said that she felt intimidated but she had absolutely no need to be! . For the evenings when they do not serve meals Marinalla and Paulo have a deal with a restaurant in the local town (L 'Ciocio Osteria di Suvereto where, although not Veggie/Vegan, head chef and owner Fabriozio Caponi presented us with two entirely different gourmet 7 (yes, that is seven! course Vegan meals. The charm and atmosphere of La Cortevilla and the local area coupled with Marinella and Paulo 's charm and hospitality made for a delightful and worry free stay in Tuscany. We are not able to recommend La Cortevilla highly enough – at least 5 stars!

The Etruscan coast is a magical place. There is the possibility to go to the beach, to visit medieval villages and untouched nature Riscoprile with horse or bicycle excursions. The farm La Cortevilla was the place for my holiday. With the essential characteristics of the typical farm: large green spaces, tranquility and informal relationship with the owners who demonstrate the passion for nature and animals. 10 vegetarian dinners to praise the housekeeper who, to listen to music, prepare organic dishes! The rooms are intimate: bed, bedside tables and washed wrought iron blanket with exposed wooden beams. Bring your pets, will run large rooms where free.
