The new menu may be limited, but it's absolutely delicious. The waitstaff were very helpful in assisting with our choices. While the seating on the back terrace is a bit cramped, it still offers a lovely atmosphere. View all feedback.

What Agustin Rolfson dislikes about 9 Bean Rows:
We made reservations for our vacation based off of recent reviews prior to the ownership change. Unfortunately the food was mediocre at best.My husband’s hanger steak was tough and inedible. My first entree of pan seared walleye was rubbery and tasteless. The server was gracious and replaced it with salmon which was much better. The roasted beet salad was very good. The sauce on the salmon was also delicious. However... View all feedback.

Just good fresh, artfully prepared food. New chef is better than any predecessor.

We have been going there for years. It changes Chefs a couple of years ago and re-opened and was just OK. Recently, there was a change in ownership/management and we tried it. The service was spotty and the staff seemed a bit confused. We got some bread/dinner rolls with water and the rolls were tough and cold. There was a tiny spot of butter with the 2 rolls. Onward to cocktails. My wifes wine was OK and my draft beer was tasty and cold. That's the end of the good news. We ordered Hanger steaks for $23.00 ea. They came extremely under cooked, very small portions and seared outside. There was a vegetable side on the plate. 3 tiny vegetables. Seriously. The place may be OK for a cocktail or a light snack, but we will never know because we will never return.

On the downside, the portion sizes were small. I suppose that's the spoiled American in me, but when I pay $30 for an entrée, I expect to feel more than just barely satisfied. I'll likely need a snack soon after leaving. The atmosphere felt a bit off. The server was awkward, and the other patrons were quite unusual as well. The quietness of the place was probably the most off-putting aspect; if I have to sit among a bunch of odd characters, I’d prefer to be able to chat about it. I might consider coming back if I’m in the area, but it wouldn’t be my first choice.

Let's begin with the positive aspects. The food was quite good, including the roasted beets, fresh green salad, mushroom risotto, Bolognese, cheesecake, and apple tart. Everything was fresh, well-prepared, and beautifully presented. However, there were a few peculiarities that detracted from the overall experience. The temperature in the space was uncomfortably chilly—yes, I understand it's winter, but they really should improve the heating. Additionally, we weren't offered any bread, which felt a bit lacking for a meal that totaled $103 before gratuity.
