The new menu may be limited, but it's absolutely delicious. The waitstaff were very helpful in assisting with our choices. While the seating on the back terrace is a bit cramped, it still offers a lovely atmosphere. View all feedback.
What Agustin Rolfson doesn't like about 9 Bean Rows:
We made reservations for our vacation based off of recent reviews prior to the ownership change. Unfortunately the food was mediocre at best.My husband’s hanger steak was tough and inedible. My first entree of pan seared walleye was rubbery and tasteless. The server was gracious and replaced it with salmon which was much better. The roasted beet salad was very good. The sauce on the salmon was also delicious. However... View all feedback.
Always been a fan of farm to table restaurants and found this place on our recent visit to suttons bay. The lamb burger was very tasty in addition to their soup and fish dip. One thing I was disappointed by is the time that it took to get our food. I could tell the server was new so it's not her fault as she was getting her bearings. When we got it, the appetizers came out with the main course. Again, this could have been a one off experience. I would however recommend this place and try it again as the food was great and I love their atmosphere.
We had a pleasant lunch at 9 Bean Rows while visiting Sutton's Bay, MI. Everyone that we encountered was unusually (almost freaky) nice and accommodating. We were made to feel like we were the most important customers that they have ever served. Sitting at the bar was fun and we had some interesting interaction with the servers who offered opinions on where we should visit in the Sutton's Bay area. I saw a lot of interesting things on their menu- I tried the Pasta of the day which was served with a delicious pesto sauce. I am not normally a fan of pesto but this was out of this world to put it mildly. 9 Bean Rows also have a fine selection of microbrews and specialty sodas (including a very tasty ginger beer), certainly you will be able to find something interesting to slake your thirst. Side note: I tried to bring up their website to check some details for this review and it appears to be broken. I hope this is just a temporary problem?
Chose it based in the reviews and we were quite disappointed. My partner's pork ragu pasta was very undercooked as was my lamb burger, which I had to send back for more time in the grill to get it to medium. Overpriced mediocre food and very limited menu. My advice, skip it.
I had the joy of visiting 9 bean row over the weekend while visiting some friends in northport. All I can say is wowwy wow wow. It definitely blew my socks off and rocked my world. I can now see how traverse city and the leelanau peninsula is definitely making a mark on the food scene (despite the fact that Mario batali is a summer local : I actually visited the spot 3 times over my two night stay (that gives you a hint as to how much I love the joint My first stop i had the croquet Monsieur. Holy cow talk about fresh, fresh, fresh. Was served on their homemade brioche, with nice hot slices of rosemary ham, and then the whole sandwich was smothered in leelanau cheese raclette and bechamel. Wayyyyy gooey and good : the bean salad and pickle was also a super nice addition as well. My second trip, which how epic was it that it was only two hours later, I then decide to grab a bottle of stellar Pinot with some buddies of mine. Chilled to perfection! Since they didn't eat, I picked at some of the macaroni and cheese- an easy dish to share. Ha! After I took one bite of that cheesy noodle goodness there was no chance my friends were touching it! Lining the bottom of the noodles were roasted broccoli, and they used cheddar, gruyere and sweet roasted red peppers as well. Definitely a good combo. On my third trip to 9br, I got a brunch special that was a cannoli dish with exotic mushrooms, ricotta cheese and some Other items (I can't quite recite . It was pretty darn stellar, but nothing quite beats the taste of that croque Monsieur : While talking to the server, they informed me everything is from in house, kind of a farm-to-table experience, which I find totally awesome. So if you are in the area, this place should be a hands down visit on your list.
All I can say is WOW! We came in for the fries, which we tried last year. They were memorable and my husband and I consider ourselves french fry fanatics. Everything that we tried was delicious. I ordered the grilled veggies as a lunch and they were so fresh and delicious! I assume your produce came straight from the 9 Bean Rows gardens that we passed on our drive into Sutton 's Bay. Everything on our plates was scarfed up!
