Freedom Caffe - Sutton

This restaurant is a very nice place with a lot of vegan options. I inquired about the hot chocolate being vegan, and although it wasn't, the staff was very accommodating and happily made me a vegan version. I will definitely be coming back. Review updated on 2022-01-17.

I have visited this restaurant several times with friends who are not vegetarian, and they also enjoyed the nice, relaxing atmosphere and considered it a great break from COVID. The coffee is authentic Italian, and as a vegan, I appreciate having options. Giuliana is clearly passionate about the food here, and it shows. A true hidden gem.

Caffè Freedom is located in the Whitehall Historic House in Cheam Village. It is a stunning and unique location for this vegetarian and vegan tea room. The food is freshly cooked to order and there are many interesting options available. The vegan croissants are amazing, as well as the gluten-free cakes like pistachio cake and almond and lemon cake. Vegan brunch options are also on offer, as well as a selection of grilled panini. A standout dish is the friarielli in garlic and olive oil. Known in Cheam for their Italian hot chocolate and high quality coffee from Italian roaster Agust, Caffè Freedom also offers a new addition to their menu: barley cappuccino.

I was here a few times with different friends (not veggie), who also thought it was nice, relaxing and a great escape from Covid . Coffee is as you expect to come in Italy and as a vegan it is great to have a choice. Giuliana is clearly passionate about her food and it shows! A real jewel....
