The quality of the food was far higher than I was expecting. The dumplings (gnocchi) were transcendent. One of those experiences where you stop eating and laugh out loud because the flavor is so spectacular. The waitress (Vanessa) was fantastic as well. Very knowledgeable about the menu and area in general (she is a local). She helped us pair our meal with some great red blends that matched our taste and overall made... View all feedback.

Terrible food and overly priced, do NOT recommend! Stay away and go somewhere else ! This review is from true foodies that traveled all over the world! Save yourselves! View all feedback.
Great place. Waitstaff really friendly and great with suggestion. Chef came out and prepared food in dining area. Butter cake is the best.
Cool place hard to get into! The food is amazing. Considering how difficult the reservation was I think I was expecting a more elevated dining venue ie fancy schmancy. It was no such thing but absolutely amazing none the less. The food was soul icious. Perfectly plated. I sat on a plastic chair that was perfectly comfortable. At first I wished I had gotten a table in their garden area but the inside was pretty fun to watch all the action coming from the kitchen. Greatly enjoyed my experience and I look forward to coming again.
Great time dinning at Bistro49. Wonderful friendly service with exciting refreshing cuisine that is new to Amador County and the Sierras.
Been to this bistro a few times, the first time ordered the Reuben with fries and it was extraordinary! The 2nd time tried pasta with tomato and capers, was NOT good! Way overpowering tomato paste flavor. Returned a third time and ordered the Reuben since I loved it previously. So disappointed! The quality and consistency compared to the previous visit was way off, used cheddar instead of swiss and way too much sauce, made the sandwich soggy! Fries were different cut, just not the same. Nothing worse than not being able to depend on consistency with a menu item. I heard they lost one of their chefs, maybe that's the reason for the lack of consistency. Won't return again.
The fries were quite bland, and the burger was just mediocre—it definitely could have used more seasoning. However, the person I dined with mentioned that the Cobb salad was good. Overall, the service was decent. We went for lunch, and the price per person was between $20 and $30.
