What david clay doesn't like about Bamboo River Sussex Inlet:
I should of learnt my lesson, once again I gave the Chinese restaurant a chance , but dining here is like having a go on the lottery, you can win and the meal is beautiful but if you lose its terrible and like the lottery you don't win much , it says something when you order two Thai curry meals and within five minutes it's ready , the curry sauce was like a thick custard , when I put it on a plate it took the shape... Bobby, bobby bobby bobby. The grey nomad that thinks his dish doesn’t wreak of imitated authentic Asian cuisine. A Mongolian lamb, use the thumbs up button if you believe it should not be pepper Spicy or hot like a deep Mexican dish. I approached “bobby” and expressed that I felt it wasn’t what I had expected. A mild dish or not spicy at all.Bobby shut me down, loudly, in front of all his staff. I had to walk away because by god it is not like me to engage in an over the counter argument. Bobby wouldn’t accept my feedback and aggressively shunned my entire existence. Bobby kept my money and he also earned a couple of bands of disrespect. I’d never eat here again and I would not recommend this RSL bistro to anyone willing to have a meal under the conditions that they get what they paid for. Otherwise the staff are lovely and very well organised, food came out promptly but **** on a motorbike bobby can jump off the hospitality cliff if he thinks that nonsense will sway in my direction or win him any favours. Get a grip bobby the owner.
Not as bad as the reviews say, we ordered fried lamb cutlet and chow min Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner
It was OK. The location was nice, by the waterside. We had the beef nachos parmi and the stir fried chicken. The parmi was a little dry and the nachos were damp. The stir fried chicken was on the salty side. It was OK. Definitely not the same quality of Chinese food you'd get in Sydney.
I should have learned my lesson. Once again, I gave the Chinese restaurant another chance, but dining here feels like playing the lottery. Sometimes you win and have a delicious meal, but when you lose, it’s a disappointment. Just like the lottery, the odds are not in your favor. It's telling when you order two Thai curry dishes and they’re ready in just five minutes—the curry sauce resembled thick custard, and when I put it on a plate, it took the shape of the takeout container. On the bright side, I've been speaking with tourists who have enjoyed every meal here. So, welcome to the Bamboo Lottery. Good luck!
