Players Bar - Surry Hills

With the renos there isn't much of a place to sit anywhere. We tried to go and play VIP lounge and the range of weirdos in there with their that's my machine aggressiveness when there was nothing nearby and no reserved' on the screen......followed by them smoking a heap of cigarettes with no concern for anyone nearby yeah well, we left. A telling story when the only place to sit is literally at the bar, when the TAB takes up about of the room. Give it a miss.

So I know this sounds very political, but I literally experienced one of the most racist and prejudiced experiences of my life. My wife and I tried to walk into the bar to have a drink. Not going to lie, we had some drinks in...us but by no means were drunk. The bouncer at the front was an African gentleman. He looked at me and said I was too drunk. I asked him kindly what made him think that? He didn't answer and proceeded to be very rude and asked if we wanted a problem. We said no we were visiting and just wanted a drink. He proceeded to ask if we wanted the police to be called. We said that is fine as we had our passports on us. He then threatened my wife and that is when I could no longer accept the rudeness and took us away. I actually am writing this review after this experience is fresh in my heart. This guard was so rude at the front I honestly can't get over it. I've never felt such awkwardness and disregard for as a person. I am an Asian American man and am proud of it. A person who can't explain himself and why he wouldn't speak to us like human beings is unacceptable. We needed up going down the street to Lo-Fi down the street as I write this review. If you experience the same I ask you write a review. Australia has been good to us but this experience was too much not to report.

Nice food in hotel with many resturent and bar so i feel to stay more night here amazing experiance in abu dhabi also with our bus tour..

Beautiful, light and airy upstairs function area that feels like a relaxing loungeroom. Perfect for Summer drinks. Decent bar and a floor that's good for dancing, but don't expect lots of fancy cocktails: the staples of wine, beer, cider and basic spirits mixers are here...but that's about it.

Best value pub food. Went along for the trivia night and ordered the grilled barramundi and hubby had the steak. The steak was thick and cooked to perfection and my barramundi filled the plate. We both just looked at it and said wow. It was...beautiful and I managed to eat it all along with the chips and salad. Great evening and great food. If you in the area it is one to try
