I’ve passed by this place at the corner of Holt and Cooper streets a million times. Nice vibe. There’s a bike on the wall. The same week that we dine at Masala Theory on Crown Street with a bike on the wall. There’s a bike on the wall at Book Cafe too. It must be a thing. Also, the menu looks like good Italian food, and I like the decor. So I’ll have to come back. This time it was only for coffee, so a heaping mug fu... View all feedback.
What Trystan Leffler doesn't like about Café & Cucina:
Friendly little cafe with helpful staff and nice little touches to what they do. Good coffee, sandwiches, cakes and quick bites - like their mini frittata toastie. Good value too. View all feedback.
I enjoyed morning coffee with my daughter liked everything and will be back soon - thanks for the trip to italy.
Friendly service. reasonable prices (for surry hills.) simple but good menu. plenty of seats inside or outside. perfect coffee! the only thing that leaves this place is that they served my toast, the order with the butter and jam already on it. And there was a lot of jam! Just like I don't like it, so I found myself scraping it off and wondering why a caffe would prespread the toast of a customer, as if they were 5yo had to take a point for it.
The personal was nice enough to organize a facility of 25 people who book for a welcome team lunch. it took up the largest part of the caffe, but the staff was very courteous and even without them preordering the food came out quickly. I was impressed by the speed of the service for a non-commercial caffe such as this the caffe offered mainly pastas, burger, sandwiches and some daily breakfast classics such as eier benedict and the great early pieces (including vegetarian options I had the cannelloni with spinat, ricotta and tomatensauce. my colleague said there was too much, but his bee! I love ricotta and I could not get enough of it, the tomatensauce was delicious and I was grateful...read more
(3.5 stars) café cucina injects a bit of local charm into an otherwise light industrial corner of surry hills. in front of a background of whining drilling noises, past men with hard guards, and anonymous white rage trade vans for limited parking, I pull on a spanned red, white and green lacquered wood table in a stiff black metal chair. inside you will find a beautiful, smiling barista, a red la Marzocco coffee machine, and a steady flow of akolytes there to get its blessings. behind his head, a chalkboard menu shares the food offers in panini, burger, pastas and salate, each category with an Italian magier. fresh cowardly curls me...read more
So far so good. Nice morning brunch area if you are in the Surry area. A bit of a tight squeeze but the food is quite decent. The Protein ball was surprisingly delicious and the beef burger is now in my top 10 fav burgers list.
