Burdekin Hotel - Surry Hills

On the oxford street, burdekin is a long pub/night club that sometimes offers good dance music from world famous djs. last time I visited here was on mardi gras at night because a few friends from Britain wanted to check this annual carnival. Drinks were all served from plastic cups, floor was sticky, space was boring and uncharacteristic, bouncers were rude as I remembered this place many years ago. some can say that this place is an institution, others can differ.

I must have been a complete fool not only to start a bar tab here, but then forget to get my bank card back from this shady one. but I don't think they steal my card and enforce fraudulent transactions. maybe they made a mistake and gave it to the wrong person (I still have the card) or maybe they have a bad egg among the workers who stole it. regardless of which I called, made e-mail and even stood up, what should be their opening times and waited 20 minutes all to no devastation. to the happiness my bank has refunded the fraudulent accusations, and I have never written a bad review in my life, but I could not warn the wise who take the time to read this before I STAY...read more

Love the Canapes menu here. they are the perfect bite size treated while on the drink. but be careful at about $3 a pop as they could break the schioners they could break the bank! that is worth it! marinated king prawn skewers and pumpkin RAHK catalog with a length of more than 30 mm

Ate here on a Thursday night. The food is mainly Italian ..pastas, risotto, etc, and it is awful. Definitely would not eat here again. Sydney bars are a bit of a lottery, but this I'd tragic. I'll be happy if we don't get salmonella from this experience. The food was also expensive for what you get, and took ages. Cooked fresh, but sadly poor ingredients and tasteless. It is depressing to think of how many nice places are nearby.
