Topsail Steamer - Surf City

This was definitely one of the best spots we visited on the island. The staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. As a vegan, I was thrilled when one of the girls helped me create a vegan steamer pot! My boyfriend, who is a true carnivore, also loved all the options available for his steamer. Definitely give them a try—you'll thank me later!

The staff guided us through various bucket setups, provided easy-to-follow instructions, and offered a selection of spices. I chose crab and shrimp, opting for the bucket with instructions and paper. This wasn’t originally our plan, but we decided to go for it. Fortunately, we had access to a stove and some spare time. The attentive staff even suggested we park around the corner, and since we arrived after 6 PM, we found a public lot with no parking fee. We spent our time cooking our seafood while listening to the waves, and the whole experience was simply amazing! If you ever get the chance to try out this straightforward cooking option, it should definitely be on your must-visit list every time you're in the Outer Banks. We felt it was perfectly safe and enjoyable!

I absolutely love this place! You can either choose one of their pre-assembled buckets or create your own by simply adding beer or water and putting it on the stove. The spices are tailored to your taste preferences (think unique flavors) and they provide extra sauces for dipping. Once you've made your selections, you'll receive both verbal and written instructions. The owner is very helpful and offers suggestions as well. If you follow the directions, you’ll be enjoying your own steam pot in less than an hour!

Yes fresh hot butter. That's what we want when we get to the beach. Super fresh seafood and many of them. For 3 of us, we have 5 crabs (meat so sweet), 2 lobster tails (so sweet and tender, I could have eaten 7 more), a bucket of shrimps, mussels, corn, potatoes, sausage and maize bread. Tons of melted butter. We're full. We're happy. You could be!

We vacation in surf city at least once a year and we always have to have the steamer as one of our dinners! Super easy to build your own with simple cooking instructions. Their Seafood was fresh and the flavor was great! Took ours back to the room at surf condos and had an amazing dinner with an incredible view. Highly recommend
