Spero Greek Street - Sunshine Coast

We stumbled upon this restaurant by accident and were delighted to see that they offered vegan moussaka on the menu. We were lucky enough to snag a table next to the water, which made our dining experience even better. The food was delicious and the staff was very friendly. We will definitely be returning on our next visit to Mooloolaba.

I ordered the Spanakorizo, vegan gyro, and lemon roasted potatoes. The service was quick and the food was delicious.

I had a wonderful dinner at this restaurant, with a table by the windows overlooking the wharf. The octopus was perfectly cooked with a healthy char, crispy edges, and tender middle. The lamb backstrap was topped with olive tapenade and smoked labneh, making for a delicious combination. The celeriac gratin was a nice alternative to the usual potato side. The Moreton Bay Bug pasta was one of the best I've ever had, with al dente pasta, tender bug, and a generous amount of it. The lemon mascarpone added a light creaminess and hint of citrus, while the crispy breadcrumbs gave a nice crunch. For dessert, the loukoumades were a comforting treat, with freshly fried doughnuts filled with ricotta and served with warm custard and candied orange peel. It was a satisfying end to the meal.

Spero is incredible. Both my girlfriend and I loved our meals so much that we couldn't stop talking about it all night. We are excited to dine there again. Even though it was a date night for us, I wished our friends were there to experience how amazing the food was. The staff were welcoming and polite, not just because it was their job, which was very much appreciated as we traveled an hour to get there.

It's hard to find fault with Spero. The food is fresh and expertly prepared. The staff is attentive and friendly. The restaurant's location by the river is a beautiful sight. Although they don't offer table service, the price of $95 for a dinner for two with wine was a pleasant surprise. I highly recommend this place and would definitely return again. Give it a try.
