I visited the Maverick Sports Bar last night at Sunset Beach, and I was thoroughly impressed. The beer is excellent, and the food exceeds expectations. Wednesday nights are karaoke nights, hosted by Lisa Snow, who is incredibly talented. She has an extensive song selection and top-notch sound equipment. I absolutely love karaoke, and it’s rare to find a spot that has everything I enjoy. View all feedback.
What bill argo dislikes about Mavericks Pointe:
My son and I visited this restaurant recently. The bar area had about ten patrons, and there were three people sitting at one table. I believe they were understaffed during my visit, as it took 10 minutes for anyone to even acknowledge us. After that, we waited 30 minutes just to receive water and place our order, and then another half hour for our two burgers to arrive. I understand that they were busy and short on staff, but the attitude of the employees was inexcusable. Rather than being apologetic about the wait, they appeared irritated to be working at all. As for the food, it was mediocre at best, definitely not worth the long wait. I can’t speak to how typical this experience is, but it was enough to deter me from coming back.

My son and I visited this restaurant recently. The bar area had about ten patrons, and there were three people sitting at one table. The waitress instructed us to choose a booth, but after that, she walked over to the side of the bar and didn’t come back. While she was busy texting on her phone, the owner was preparing drinks for other customers. We never received menus or had our drink order taken; she just stood there, occupied with her phone. After waiting for ten minutes without any service, we decided to leave. She glanced over at us but didn’t say a word. It seems she must be used to this. We will definitely not be returning.
The service was disappointing. The staff rarely checked on our table, and we had to wave someone down just to get more water. The buffalo wings were large but overly fatty and flabby, lacking the crispy texture we were hoping for. The French fries were mediocre; they needed to be cooked longer to improve their quality. The hamburgers were decent, but they seemed like they were sourced from Sam's or Costco, definitely not made in-house. We waited nearly 40 minutes for our food. Overall, I won’t be returning.
Last night, Wednesday, July 31, I dined with out-of-town family—seven adults in total. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing. The burgers did not provide good value for the price. Our orders were mixed up by our waitress, Hilda. If there’s something you don’t understand, please just ask! The French fries and sweet potato fries were terrible—limp and greasy. The only highlight was the cold beers. I’m sorry, but the owner really needs to improve things!
