We had the Hibiscus calamar... read more The Maya cuisine is an amazing addition to the sunny city centre. You have a ton of vegan options and a whole vegan/vegeterian menu. We had the Hibiscus calamari, the grilled Veggies, the Chipotle Tofu and the Tacos. To finish the night, we had their Mayan hot chocolate. The whole food was amazing, quickly came out and the staff was very friendly and patient. No doubt we'll be back for dinner soon.

I do wish they would dim the lights a bit in the evening to create a more romantic atmosphere, but I would definitely return in a heartbeat!

I also got the crispy plantain taco which was amazing! As someone who just came back from Panama this was on par with the plantains out there! The crispness and saltiness from the taco paired with the sweetness of the cranberries and plantain was just perfect! The only problem was that it was a little bit dry so if there was a sauce to go with it?! The elote were really cool with an amazing shape almost curled up like ribs! They were tasty and had crema and tajin on them! However for their price I would have wanted a little more! I also got the churrasco steak! The steak itself was well cooked and flavorful with a little bit of tomato sauce! The charred vegetables were also amazing! Overall it was really an authentic dish with even the rice being unique with a completely different taste than normal! However I also wished they had some kind of sauce to go with the dish which would have made it just supreme! We ended off with a churro which was warm and gooey with a vanilla center which I loved! Overall the food here is authentic and unique, but it is on the pricier end. However for the amazing service and ambiance paired with the good food I would definitely give this place a try!
