The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because of the elusive potato slice situation. It’s hands down one of my favorites, but the availability feels like a mystery. Such a unique and delicious slice! I’ll check most weekends, and if I come in early they say it’ll be ready later, but when I return it’s either sold out or never got made I’m guessing I’ve tried calling to get a sense of timing, but there’s not really a clear answer. One day my husband stopped in and was so excited to see a whole new tray of potato slices. He wanted to get 4 slices (2 for each of us , he was told there was a 2 slice limit per customer, just on the potato slices, which was a bit of a bummer but a different day he tried to order 4 again and there was no mention of a limit so idk It would be amazing if there was a way to know when to swing by for the best chance at snagging a slice (or four . The pizza itself is always worth the visit just hoping for a little more potato slice predictability. Still one of favorite go to spots! Best pizza in Sunnyside hands down, if not in all of Queens! Highlights: Crust is perfectly foldable, is nice and thin but not too thin, and has great flavor Sauce and cheese ratio is great and both have great flavor They rip fresh basil up and grate Parmesan from a block on top after it comes out of the oven. Adds so much depth to the smell and taste So many terrible pizza places in Queens, I don’t know how they stay open. I’ve been searching for something like this for years. I will gladly drive 20 mins past many other pizza places to get here every week

I grew up in Brooklyn and have spent 30 years here, indulging in countless pizzas—from Di Fara’s to Joe’s, L&B, and countless mom-and-pop shops. I’ve also been fortunate to travel the world, sampling pizzas everywhere, especially in Italy. Philomena’s pizza is so exceptional, it almost feels wrong to eat it. What’s more impressive is the incredible consistency. I’ve been ordering from here for three years, and every time, the quality and flavor blow me away. Dave, you and your pizza are truly a shining light. Thank you for crafting such timeless pizza art. <333
